DJ, producer and journalist Camilo Rocha has been in action since the beginnings of electronic music culture in Brazil. He has been involved in many of the essential events, publications and movements that have shaped the Brazilian scene, always promoting new talent and sounds. His credibility as artist and communicator is widely acknowledged.
DJING
House, tech-house and nu-disco are mainstays in Camilo's DJing. However, his vast musical knowledge, constant research and experience on the decks means that his sets can feature much more musical variation and styles, such as disco, acid house, breaks, electro and old school tunes. Through his sets and podcasts and his club night, Discology vs Bate-Estaca, at Vegas, in São Paulo, he has been flying the flag for nu disco and the whole "good music from all decades" spirit. Camilo is also frequently playing at São Paulo’s best clubs such as Tapas, Gloria, D'Edge, Clash and Kraft. He has also played in major Brazilian festivals and events such as Tim Festival, Skol Beats, Virada Cultural, São Paulo Fashion Week, Planeta Atlântida, Ceará Music and Universo Paralello.
MUSICAL PROJECTS
Camilo was behind the concept and selection of two compilations for Centauro, Brazil's largest sports retailer. The comps feature the best of Brazil's electronic music producers. Among his production work the highlights are remixes for the soundtrack of “City of God” and partnerships with techno DJs Julian Liberator and Patrick DSP. His track “Station”, by his former project 2Freakz, won the award for best electronic music video of 2002 at the Brazilian MTV Awards.
JOURNALISM
Camilo is also a respected journalist in Brazil. He is one of the editors of portal Virgula and a contributor to magazines DJ Mag, Electro Mag and House Mag. He also runs one of the most respected and followed blogs in the electronic scene, Bate-Estaca (http://rraurl.uol.com.br/blogs/bateestaca). Thanks to all this, Camilo is frequently invited to seminars, events, interviews and pieces in mainstream media to talk about electronic music/club culture/DJing.

RESIDÊNCIA e CLUBES
Atualmente mantém a noite mensal Discology vs Bate-Estaca, no clube Vegas. É a junção de dois projetos: Bate-Estaca, dedicado à novas batidas eletrônicas, e Discology, voltado para sons clássicos (feito em pareceria com Clau Assef). Camilo é convidado frequente dos melhores clubes de São Paulo, como D'Edge, Clash e Kraft. Também se apresentou em eventos como Tim Festival, Skol Beats, Virada Cultural, SPFW, Rec Beat, Planeta Atlântida, Ceará Music e Universo Paralello. No exterior, já tocou na Inglaterra, Argentina, Chile e Uruguai.
PROJETOS MUSICAIS
Camilo acaba de assinar a seleção e concepção de dois CDs para as Lojas Centauro, reunindo o melhor da produção eletrônica nacional. Entre trabalhos de produção própria no estúdio se destacam remixes para a trilha de Cidade de Deus e parcerias com os DJs Julian Liberator e Patrick DSP, além da histórica faixa "Station", cujo clipe ganhou o prêmio de melhor vídeo de música eletrônica do VMB da MTV de 2002.
JORNALISMO
Camilo é também um jornalista com anos de janela. Ele é hoje um dos editores do portal Virgula, da Jovem Pan/UOL, colabora para as revistas DJ Mag, Electro Mag e House Mag e mantém um dos blogs mais respeitados e lidos da cena eletrônica, o Bate-Estaca (http://rraurl.uol.com.br/blogs/bateestaca). Por conta disso, Camilo é sempre convidado para palestras, eventos, entrevistas e matérias na grande imprensa quando o assunto é cena eletrônica/discotecagem/música.
