Camino Real Playhouse prides itself on being Orange County's premiere destination for live theatre. Located in the heart of San Juan Capistrano, the Playhouse is dedicated to bringing the best shows with the best talent to the stage. This past season we added our new second stage, Stage II with special events like our monthly Comedy Night at Stage II, our Halloween offering of The Haunting of Hill House, Hospitality Suite and Ayn Rand's Night of January 16th. Actors come from as far south as San Diego and as far north as Los Angeles to work on our stage. Please make Camino Real Playhouse your Entertainment Destination!
Who I'd like to meet: We're looking for actors, directors, techies or just those who love the theatre!
All actors who appear on our stages are volunteers, giving their time and talent to ensure top-quality theatre experiences for South County's play-going public. The Camino Real Playhouse offers a wealth of opportunity for creativity and growth, guided by our professional staff.
The Playhouse encourages newcomers and takes pride in the fact that almost every production - on our Mainstage marks the debut of at least one actor at Camino Real Playhouse. The Camino Real Playhouse is South Orange County's destination for whimsical, gripping and compelling performances.
Volunteers are encouraged to participate in every area of production. Basic instruction and guidance is offered to any individual with the desire to help. Backstage activities include: sewing, scenic painting, carpentry, prop gathering, set design assistance, follow spot, sound and lighting board operations.
Front of house activities include: office help, box office workers, ushers and concessionaire. In addition ... volunteers are also needed to assist with marketing and fundraising and we always need stage managers, assistant stage managers, and dedicated stage crew for every show. If you want to volunteer, email here or please visit our volunteer's page on main web page for more information.
We all wear a lot of different hats here at the Camino Real Playhouse. You, too, can become part of our more than 17-year tradition of service and fun for the entire family.
We want this Myspace to be as much a resource for you, the actors, as it is for us. So please, if you see yourself in one of our pictures, email and let us know so we can tag you in that picture!! We know that the Community Theatre community cannot survive without talent like you, and we know that you do this because you love it and we want to give you as much of an opportunity to do it as possible!!! So please, help us help you!!
Thank you, and welcome to a discussion among Music and Theater people, film makers and philosophers, painters and poets. I invite you to my current exhibitions of paintings and poems, and look forward to talking with you. There's no better place for enlightened discussion than in the presence of art.
