Growing up in Bendigo, Central Victoria, Cameron Mason was never far from the sounds of Country Music in the family home. His early favorites were Hank Williams, Charlie Pride, Don Williams, and Merle Haggard, and they gave him the motivation to pick up a guitar at the age of nine and begin to sing. Realising right from the beginning that music would play a major role in his life, Cam started writing his own songs and formed a band at the age of twelve and was soon appearing at festivals and venues all over the state including backing U.S. singer/songwriter Don King for his Australian tour.
Cameron then relocated to Sydney where he played support for John Paul Young, Goanna, and U.K. band “Hot Chocolate”. After receiving the John Williamson Telstra encouragement award Cameron entered the Starmaker Quest in Tamworth where he became a finalist. He then formed the band "Runaway Train" winning Tamworth festivals “Jim Beam battle of the bands” and received a gold guitar nomination for best group with their top ten single “Nothin’ that a little bit of you can’t cure”.
Cameron's new solo album for 2008, "Changes", features nine of his own original tracks including the single, "What am I gonna do".

Thanks for the howdy Cameron. I'm surprised that Rodney Crowell isn't in your influences because Your vocal delivery is very similar to his, and that's a good thing in my book!
Might see you on the left side of the map sometime.
