NO on Prop 4 - Campaign for Teen Safety's Blurbs
About me:

Welcome to the Campaign for Teen Safety. Please join us in opposing Proposition 4, which would put teenagers in serious danger. Prop 4 is an unsafe ballot measure that threatens teen safety by mandating parental notification prior to a minor terminating a pregnancy. Parents rightfully want to be involved in their teenagers' lives and we want our daughters to come to us if they become pregnant.

In the real world, laws like Prop 4 can't force teens to talk to their parents, but it may force them to do something desperate and dangerous. California voters smartly opposed similar parental notification initiatives in both 2005 and 2006. Please help us keep teens safe by voting NO and sign-up now to be updated with more information about the campaign and get involved.

I am so proud of California for saying YES to protecting the safety of teen girls by voting NO on 4!!! It was close, but the majority of voters clearly do understand the crux of this difficult, emotionally charged issue and the high stakes involved here.

I just wanted to take a quick second and THANK ALL of the supporters against prop 4. It gives me hope that the future won't be as bleak for my children if we can all stop this proposition from occuring.

Its funny that supporters for "4" really don't care about the 48 hour notification part.
In other words, they don't want to have the girl or parents to have that abortion even if she was raped. Try to tell a girls family she has to carry a rapist child after such a horrifying event....jeez.

Thanks for the add. I had been looking for this myspace page and finally found it!!

In a perfect world everybodies daughter would go to their parents and tell them they were in trouble. But this world is far beyond perfect and not every parent is wonderful and perfect. My life growing up is one prime example. I as well as many kids I was friends with lived in low income nieghtborhood where child abuse is all too common.
I watched my best friend beat by her father on a regular basis. My father was no better at times.
She had been raped when she was 13 by some jerk and unfortunalty got pregnant. Even the thought of telling her father scared her to death. Imagine what he would do to her if she had to tell him she was pregnant and needed an abortion?
I can't, and at that time fortunatly didnt have to let him know.
She told me she would have gotton one reguardless, even at the choice of risking her health and safety to get one.
She was eventually taken out of that situation and now lives out of California.

The story of abuse is all too common. The brainwashed people who want 4 passed have no idea what it will do to these girls who live in horrible situations. They will risk their lives to get an abortion at any cost.
And if this passes ( i hope not )the blood of those girl's will be on their hands.

Common Sense. And I Always Vote pro Choice

Thanks for letting me share.
Aaron

Aaron Burton, a senior at Cal Poly Pomona and Get Up Vote Down 4 & 8 campaign manager, spoke with Chavez against the propositions. "This election should be about equality and rights," Burton said. Gays and lesbians "are taxpayers, yet they don't get the same rights as heterosexuals. I am just asking [that our gay brothers and sisters] have the same rights my mom and dad have."

"The people behind (Proposition 4) are beginning to chip away at a woman's right to choose," Burton said. "We ask people to really read through Prop 4 because it can put teens at risk." ... Please Click the Link to read the rest!
