Camp Barbee is located two miles south of North Webster, Indiana, on County Road 400 N. When traveling on State Highway 13, watch for the Barbee Christian Church Camp sign marking where to turn.
Barbee Christian Camp is owned and operated by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana. Once the fishing and hunting grounds for the Pottawatomie and Miami Indians, and later settled by Daniel Kuhn, the campground covers 120 acres. The camp opened in 1952. A great deal of love has gone into the development of this camping and retreat center. Originally used for summer Church Camps exclusively, the campground is now open all year.
The camp purpose is to promote Christian education and fellowship in an outdoor setting, reinforcing the faith statement we make when we claim God as Creator and Savior.
Barbee Christian Camp and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) offers summer camp sessions for youth up to senior high school. Sessions usually begin in mid-June and continue through mid-August. The emphasis is on Bible studies, worship and group-building activities including crafts, water sports, swimming, canoeing, nature walks and recreational activities for large groups. All young people are welcome regardless of race, gender, or religious affiliation. Most local Disciples Churches or the Region of Indiana have funds available for campers with special financial needs. Several hiking trails are marked for use in the wooded areas which are State Wildlife areas.
