born jerome carter feb: 9th i started rappen when i was 13 back in 1989 doing the times Club Rumors,Club 88, Club Polo,and artist such as the Ghetto Twinns,man my Byran and cuz Dee dealing with artist like Warren Maze r.i.p but could,nt really get a tape released cause i was n & out of juvenile jail.after doing a light term i was signed to Warren Maze label Bomb Records in 1998 and did my first show through him at the Municipal Auditorium and after his death Camp Jay was signed to Big Body Records under Cornell Bradley and Alphonse Jones out n new orleans.we were labeled Da Shot Callaz.dropped a album Big Body Session,and K-Otic mynds with hit song called Ya Boy'EM with my goose bound soljahz.i was known as crytikal but once i decided to go independant i met D.K, and he hooked up with my cuz Zulu South who both produced my first album along with my boy Tori. i chose to use da name some older cat's started callen me n Angola which is the Louisiana State Penitentiary.they started callen me Camp Jay because of my attitude and behavior n-side da prison and said it fit my life style cause i was all street and wild along with being demanding,and known as a leader.so i was released and off to fulfill my career.did shows with d.m.x,mystikal,cash money,B.G,my dog Soljah Slim R.I.P big dog,NO-LIMIT,Scarface,Ying Yang Twins,my other big dog Big Buck who started Knock Out Records who made it happen 4 me 2 do my first live performance on T.V back home and now has City Boy Ent,and later .. hurricane katrina i got a chance to do shows with d4l,lil scrappy,block ent., etc.... i performed n places like my home New Orleans,ATL.,Arkansa,Cali,Texas,Miss.,ALA.,and i now have my first album ''Bring It On"" sellen under sonicwave and sony.and my manager vamp/cash money vamp dat is. i always had luv for music before i started marching n the school bands.it's just that coming up on the streets of new orleans either u dealth or got dealt so i had to get it and not be got .so therefore my bad over rolled da good but i survived the war and still standing.now my second album is almost completed and it's called '' Dey A'int Ready'' da hidden truth of Camp Jay'' revealing my tru life and things da world don't know cause it's real n da field and 09 is my yr. along with my cousin J3,and Lil Bro.a/k/a project Ent. they both produced tracks on my second album as well as featuring artist with my cuz Lil Dro us 4 2gether it's a UPT. thang u gotta luv it.so now i'm just shoppen around 4 an artist deal if it come my way but until then i'll be doin my thang ya heard me? you can get da first album at ebay. amazon. tower records. best buy. and barnes& noble which already sold over 161,000 now over seas and over 144,00 here in da US. so check it out camp jay " bring it on " part 1...keep it gutta !!!
