Camp Lickalotta Founders, Nancy Leedy and Joanie Beasley
At Camp Lickalotta Events, we make sure that our events are affordable so everyone can participate in our wonderfully diverse community. We do not have our own physical campground, but hope to obtain one in the future.
It is our intention to have events at LGBT and Ally campgrounds in other parts of the country in the near future. We will post further information as it becomes available.
We are in the process of rebuilding our main website. It is www.camplickalotta.net and www.lickalottafest.com (Our annual Music Festival) Until then this is the best place to communicate with us, here on MySpace. So visit us often to keep up on what is happening at Camp Lickalotta. WE HAVE WEEKLY UPDATE BLOGS, every Wednesday night after 8 PM, to keep you informed on what's going on. As soon as our web sites, are up and running we will let you know to tune in there for the latest news and updates.
Music
We enjoy all types of music. Diversity is the key! Nancy is an avid fan...and has quite a CD collection. Feel free to send her a copy of your stuff. Be warned, not only will she play it...she will show and tell others about it.
Movies
Television
Joanie likes CSI, Forensic Files, Discovery Channel, and of course the L-Word, that is now over.
Books
Nancy likes to read. She is building a small library, so that when we get our actual campground she can loan out books to campers that may want to spend some time relaxing reading a book. Any donations to that would be appreciated.
Heroes
Martin Luther King, JR, Mother Theresa, and all the hard working people in this world getting out there everyday and making it happen for their families and communities! WE SALUTE YOU!

Camp Lickalotta is a membership organization of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people and our Allies who value building community and share our love of the outdoors. We will be organizing and planning a variety of fun and exciting camping events in the future. Our main event, Lickalotta Fest, is an annual music festival and camping weekend.
Our members, or Lickalotta’s, as we like to call them, need only follow our simple creed and live our mission by example to….
o LickalottaPrejudice
o LickalottaPollutants
o LickalottaPessimism
[Lick:to overcome or defeat, as in a fight, game, or contest.]
There is no denying our name is unusual. It grabbed your attention didn’t it? It is easy to dismiss our mission by focusing solely on our name. Earlier this year the name "Camp Lickalotta" did generate some rather unfriendly attention. That 'controversy' brought out the worst in some people but, it brought out the best in so many more. We have bounced back stronger, wiser and more resolved than ever to create something special. A place where everyone is welcome, safe and loved. So, to stop at our name is to miss out on a whole lot of, good clean fun with a higher purpose!
Who I'd like to meet:
PEOPLE that are willing to help us make the place a better world through EQUALITY for all!

Hey, I am giving a shout out for some help! My partner and I have opened a new c-store/gas station/cafe here in northeast bama and have tried for almost 2 months to get some service from Mayfield milk but just keep being ignored! They are not LGBt friendly it would appear!Anyone got any advice? We would love to sell milk in our store but I guess Scottie Mayfield wont sell to lesbians.
