Cameron Neilson is a young upcoming British performer, born in Bonnie Scotland in a small former fishing port called Alloa on Valentines Day. Cameron already has a career that spans over a decade! His stage debut in the summer of 1993 saw him take to the stage at a very early age, performing in the stage version of the feature film ‘Bugsy Malone’ where child stars such as Jodie Foster started their careers. Throughout his childhood and early teens he went on to star in many Pantomimes, including the famous Walt Disney Shows Aladdin, Cinderella, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty to name a few. As a young actor he appeared in the Waterford International festival in Gilbert and Sullivan’s MIKADO. Into his teens Cameron won an international competition sponsored by the famous teen magazine "Smash Hits" which turned an unknown girl band "Spice" into "The Spice Girls”. He worked closely with the magazine for nearly 2 years and part of his prize was to form a band that then went on to be featured in the magazine and support major British bands. After the band, Cameron, as a solo artist, was featured as a singer at the televised Queens Jubilee Celebrations 2000. Cameron then went on to train in Glasgow. Throughout his two years there he played Mike in "A Chorus Line" and lead vocalist in “Arabian Nights” at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) and the subsequent recording of the soundtrack of show. He was a regular face on the Glasgow Singer/Songwriter circuit and has a strong ongoing fan base in Britain. Cameron became a sought after session singer due to his versatile rock tenor voice demoing songs and albums for producers such as Ryan Laubshcer ( Eminem, Helena Zetova). His love of recording and song writing continues. After graduating from Glasgow with an HND Cameron auditioned and received a full scholarship to study at the acclaimed Arts Educational Stage School in London where he trained in all three disciplines singing/acting/dance and graduated with a BA Honours Degree. Immediately on leaving Arts Ed Cameron went on to perform in the world famous Andrew Lloyd Webber show "Starlight Express". He played the lead role of Rusty at the Edinburgh Playhouse as well as the Role of Caboose on the Scandinavian and UK tour of the Show. A show performed entirely on Roller Skates. Other memorable roles for Cameron are playing Doody in the worldwide famous show ‘Grease’, the title role in ‘The Wiz’ and recording the original soundtrack to the Musical "Just So" for Cameron Macintosh and Stiles and Drewe. A highlight close to his heart was performing with his sister who is profoundly deaf in a Singing/Signing choir they set up to help able and disabled kids to integrate together through their love of music. His sister is his No.1 fan even though she has never been able to hear him sing! Cameron has recently just finished the filming of a documentary "Big Break" which followed him on his day to day ups and downs of being a performer. Most recently he has signed a deal with the dance label Isobar Records, which will feature him as guest vocalist on the release of their Summer Anthem through itunes this coming summer. Cameron also loves haggis and porridge and eats it everyday! "Och aye"
