I am a loud Asian chick who writes loud Asian chick lit and romance (think Amy Tan meets Bridget Jones). My Sushi Series is published by Zondervan, starting with book one, Sushi for One?, which came out in September 2007. Book two, Only Uni, came out in February 2008, and book three, Single Sashimi, comes out in August 2008.
I'm a staff worker with the youth group at my church. I've been working with teens since 1995? 1996? (See? They've sucked away all my brain cells.) It's so cool to see them grow up into men and women of God. I remind myself of that fact on the days I want to wring all their necks.
(Despite my homicidal tendencies, I really do care about them, so if your MySpace has some content that the kids' parents wouldn't approve of, I won't add you to my friends list. Sorry dude.)
Well, before I started writing novels, I was a biologist researcher in Silicon Valley, California. I am a geek and my husband is a geek, but our dog is not a geek. She's a very cute, very buttheaded mutt we got from the Santa Clara Humane Society.
I grew up in Hawaii, in Wahiawa, O'ahu, and went to my dad's high school, Leilehua. Then I came to California and lost my pidgin accent.
I used to play co-ed recreational volleyball until I tore my ACL twice. Yes, twice.
I hope that my books show people that it's okay to be weird, it's okay to be insecure, it's okay to be messed up. God loves you anyway.
