Tim Maze, Tina Miller, Andy Wilks, Steven Sims, Wayne Burgett
Tim Maze - Strong Lead Vocal, and upgright Bass. Tim has always had a desire to be involved in gospel music. Tim has been a part of several groups plus had a daily gospel music show on the local radio station WRAB in our hometown of Arab, AL for over 20 years. Tim plays the bass, sings lead and harmony vocals plus handles the emcee responsibilities for Canaan’s Crossing. Tina Miller - Very talented Fiddle Player since she was 5 years old. Since learning to play the fiddle at age 5, Tina has become one of the most loved female musicians and vocalist in bluegrass gospel music. She not only is a fiddle player and singer, Tina is an accomplished writer and has had several songs recorded by Canaan’s Crossing. Her infectious smile and enthusiasm will brighten any stage. Tina has become a crowd favorite and is a remarkable talent. Andy Wilks - Guitar, Lead, and Harmony vocals with a great range from bass to suprano... Andy Wilks has been involved in Gospel Music since he could stand on a piano stool and sing with his sisters, Sonya and Cheryl. It was at a young age that he learned to sing harmony. Unknown to many, while his sisters were learning to play the piano, Andy was learning to play the guitar. Andy has a great ear for music and is very involved in the musical arrangements for Canaan’s Crossing.
Steven Sims - Mandolin. The newest member of Canaan’s Crossing is Steven Sims. Steven is currently single and has played mandolin, guitar, and sang at church and some other local groups for several years. Steven is a strong Christian and active at his church in Decatur Alabama. Wayne Burgett - Banjo, and harmony vocals. Only a few lessons from his cousin Don is all that it took for Wayne to fall in love with the banjo.
Junior Saint - After much prayer and discussion, Junior Saint has resigned from Canaan's Crossing due to personal health reasons. As you may know, Junior suffered a brain aneurism in November of 2007. In May of 2008 he returned to the group but, residual effects has caused him continuing health problems. Junior told us that due to he and his wife's health concerns and time restraints, he would have to resign. Canaan's Crossing is saddened by all that has took place with Junior. We know that due to his love for the music, this decision, while being in his and Lillian's best interest, was a difficult one to make. George Younce, the former Cathedral Qt. bass singer once said, "When someone leaves your group, they take a little piece of your heart with them" and that is how we feel about Junior leaving Canaan's Crossing. Junior we love you and we hope the best for you.
Influences
We like a lot of the newer groups. But enjoy performances that not only include quality music but just a little humor to keep it light and entertaining. This would include the Isaacs, the Primitives, Doyle Lawson, Alison Krauss, and many others.
Sounds Like
We try very hard to sound like Canaan's Crossing. We are fortunate to have two song writers in the band, and we try to arrange the songs we do to sound unique using our own style.
Hopefully you will enjoy what we have done and continue to work hard to provide our own style of Bluegrass Gospel ministry and entertainment.

Canaan's Crossing is a talented group. Their styles do lean towards bluegrass but there is a special quality about their music that sets it apart. A lot of you know that I am not a bluegrass music fan but I really enjoy this project! My favorite songs from this project are "My Lord Delivered Me," "I'll Be Alright" and "In Your Own Time." The project has great production quality and a nice selection of songs. You should get a copy and begin enjoying your copy today! For more information on the group visit www.songgardenmusicgroup.com.
"Canaan's Crossing's voice of ministry rises above the rest in Alabama. Their music is some of the best bluegrass gospel that our fair state has to offer, as proven with their delightful presentation of many original songs, written with a careful hand. Enjoy!" - - Claire Lynch
