When you hear a song through the wall on your flatmates stereo and think "I like this song!" only it's not the song you think it is, but you stick around anyway cause they've got a good heater, and they're nice.
Busing into town from Auckland's central suburbs (one stage, please), Canadia traded copies of the 2008 EP One Dog Clapping for support slots and samosas. The band's latest release, Beg Steal and Burrow, casts off the bedroom claustrophobia and replaces it with a warm back shed sing-along. Mixing country guitars with swells of baroque piano and layers of singer Ashley Noel Hinton's harmonies, Canadia creates sincere chamber pop evocative of its indie and alt-country heroes. Stand out tracks like the delicate 'Other Side' are sure to grab some attention, and not just because it features a Sami Sister.
wow. i've always wanted to be the first one to post a comment. and here i am. it's actually a bit of an anti climax. hey - the dog claps really well. I.
