Glen Foster "That Canadian Guy"'s Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | I guess that I would call myself a semi-well known veteran of the Canadian Comedy scene. The curse (and the blessing) of Canadian showbiz is that virtually every spot of television I have ever done is repeated (seemingly forever) on Canada's Comedy Network.
My collection of repeats include "Comedy Now", "Comics", "Comedy at Club 54", "Open Mike with Mike Bullard", "The Winnipeg Comedy Festival" and "The Halifax Comedy Festival". I have also made several appearances at the prestigious "Just For Laughs" Montreal Comedy Festival.
I have travelled all over Canada doing comedy and have also performed in The United States, Great Britain, Australia and a few other foreign lands as well.
In late 1999, I did a television special called "That Canadian Guy", which stated as a joke / comment on the fact that people have short attention spans and don't remember names. I actually did a joke about it during the show, and also mentioned my new website, "www.thatcanadianguy.com The special seemed to hit home with a lot of Canadians, because the next day I received a flood of e-mail, most of which was along the lines of "I couldn't remember your name, but I remembered That Canadian Guy"
Most of the work that I do is private corporate shows for sales conventions, golf touraments and such. I still work clubs from time to time, but am moving more into theatre shows. This fall / spring I will be starting my "Twenty five years without a dayjob tour. | | Website | thatcanadianguy.com | | Influences | Early influences include Bill Cosby, Steve Martin, Bob Newhart and Monty Python.
