I grew up in Cayuga, Ontario - a Huck Finn kinda place - on the banks of the Grand River. That's where I learnt to play guitar, while listening to 8-tracks and scratchy vinyl of everyone from Kris Kristofferson and Emmylou Harris to Willie Nelson and John Prine, or Blue Rodeo to the Pogues. So, I would categorize my music as country-folk-rock.
Right now, I'm living in Northern Ireland and have performed regularly at Lisburn City's Island Arts Centre, and also in Belfast at Aunt Annie's and the Errigle (where, with my guitarist Ringo Dolenz, I opened for Mary Gauthier).
I have also enjoyed playing live on BBC Radio, including opening a live broadcast from the Lisburn IAC for the BBC 2004 Music Live festival.
SANCTUARY Northern Ireland (Lisburn) HEAVEN AND HELL GIG part 3 -- Sat 31st October at CCC 4 Curtis Street Belfast -- Dokime and The Ned Kelly Band -- 7pm -- all ages (See pic poster)
Yep, they were first class. Some members (NOT all!) of the audience were a bit dull, but this IS Lisburn, after all. I think "One Sided Toast" may be getting together again soon (minus our FEMALE percussionist), but I wouldn't say we were reforming.
Thanks Candace. Yeah, Paul McCartney was on top form! An excellent gig. The Kaisers and Zutons were great too! And Anfield - what a venue! The real star was, of course, Peter Kay!
Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show. Kevin made a little video at my studio last week while we were recording....check it out http://myspacetv. com/index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&videoid=34589518
There are a series of shows in England and Scotland....dates are on my myspace.
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.

Hi Candace. Thanks for your comments. I hear you were at the Stones concert at Slane. I was there too, near the front. Those guys know that writing songs ain't about depressing the punters.
Just stopping in Candace to say hi .. I hope everything is okay with you .. things are good over here close to your old stompin' grounds !!! Take care .. Neil
