North Western, Native American music, Mingled in with Cat Stevens, Joni, and the soggy bottom...okay...that's not true. It's just a little smooth sound with a folkish kick with some soulful lyrics. Something to think about..the timeless lyric...yes, something to think about indeed.
A 60 style singer/songwriter, who began performing in Seattle Washington in 1994 in open mic venues like Folk life, Bite of Seattle and most Victory Music venues, along with artist like Frank Smith, Jim Nason and many others from 1994-1999. Candelaria co- created with singer/songwriter, Karyn Michaelson in a duo indigo style band called SpiritWalk at venues like Seattle Repertory Theater and many small coffee houses in the greater Seattle area. In 1999 Candelaria went solo and produced a CD called Soultice Journey which is collections of her writings from 1974-1999. A project which heavily draws on the Native American spirit of medicine drummer and vocal bowl artist, Robert Charles. It was a personal healing CD which helped her thru a some very low points in her personal life and musical career. "Black Eagle", received a rating in the top ten from a TNN songwriting competion in 1998. In 2004 Candelaira moved to Atlanta, Georgia and was found by a talent scout agency called Living Notes Music Booking and performed at places like Eddie's Attic, and The Alley, Cool Beans, Starbucks and many other small coffee houses with occasional appearances at places like Hemingway's on The Square in Marietta and Nancy's Pizzaria, in Midtown Atlanta. Making the full circle of her music and songwriting journey Candelaria is now back in the place of her writing roots...and her journeys reflective style promises to continue to draw on the peace-loving grass-roots nature of this timeless writer of lymric, sounds and poems.
