Shanite is an extraordinary singer/songwriter who hails from a strong gospel and musical background. The entire family shares Shanites gift of musical abilities and they express their talents in a variety of ways. Shanites is raw talent ready to be harnessed. Shanites mother, brother, sister, daughters, nieces, nephews, aunts uncles, grandmother and a host of cousins are all musically inclined in some way. You feel the rhythm in the drums they beat, in the strings they play, in the melodies that rise for within the piano and most importantly, when they raise their voice in a joyful noise to share with audiences.
Shanite has been singing all her life. She made her musical debt at the age of seven when she sang her first solo. When young Shanite broke into a rousing rendition of “ Jesus Loves Me”, she had the church in the palm of her hand. Years later she is still warming hearts, minds and souls with her angelic, hypnotic, songbird voice with lyrics that tell her life in song.
Shanite began singing professionally at age nineteen when she formed her first group “4 Shades of Ebony” and many others would follow over the years. Though she thoroughly enjoyed the group experience, Shanite has decided to go solo and is tenacious in her ambition to become a successful female artist. She has written the songs on her first cd and is very proud of her work. She has successfully obtained studio experience and is working on the fringes of the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. Shanite has participated in many open mic events and talent showcases where she frequently wins. Even when she does not triumph, Shanite uses the opportunity to learn how to be even better next time. Shanite is an expert and used each experience, good or bad, to grow personally and professionally. She has a stunning voice and a wonderful, soft heart.
Shanite is a strong and determined woman who knows what she wants and is willing to pursue “roads less traveled” to achieve her goals. She is currently pursuing a solo career and seeks association with a prominent record label to back her and business partner/ producer Boogaloo @ Mamma’s Boy Ent. She writes Beautiful music that tells life’s story as seen through the eyes of a young black woman. She fills her music with so much passion and feelings it’s hard not to fall in love with her voice over and over with each new song on her cd. She possesses a broad and clear vocal range. Always pushing to see where it will take her next.
Shanite stays busy between trying to establish herself as a serious artist and taking care of her three daughters. She is currently in a live R&B band Ecourte all keep her very busy. Shanite first single was released with Double R Records in 2004 songs titled “It’s Your Move & Cry” available @ www.CDBaby.com Shanite is ambitious and determined and, with luck and hard work, will break into the music industry in a big way very soon.
