"Candlelight Red is the culmination of two central PA bands with a long history merged into one.
Bassist Adam Zimmer and Drummer Josh Hetrick were the rhythm section to the State College based band "Stept On".
Stept On pounded the PA music scene and made the local airwaves with two exciting ep's and had bands like national recording artists "Halestorm" and "Breaking Benjamin" opening for them as well as opening for nationals.
After the band called it a day in 2006 the two decided to join forces with guitarist Jeremy Edge who had recorded 4 cds with a band that went by the name of "Backstreet Law" and later changed it's name to "Til December". After opening for many national acts and making appearances .. Jagermeister Musictour shows as well as many showcases, that band too had decided to disband. Out of the ashes came Candlelight Red.
After gigging with vocalists Charlotte Kopp and Greg Locke, The band found Ryan Hoke to fill vocal duties. Ryan had played in the bands "Hyphema" and "Slant 6", who opened for such acts as "Hatebreed" and "Clutch". Things clicked immediately and the band began writing songs together. Candlelight Red have spent since the summer of 2008 introducing their sound to clubs all over central PA, NY and Ohio. They landed a spondorship deal with Jagermeister and endorsements for SIT Strings, Spector Basses and Saluda Cymbals. Already garnering many rave reviews and amassing a street team and fan club, Candlelight Red have fans on the edge of their seat awaiting the release of a new EP as the band is slated to go into the studio in August.
Not to be defined as only the descendants of their previous bands, CLR offer a sound that is new and innovative. Upbeat and adrenaline filled as well as melodic. Look for much more from them in the months to come!"

Hey!! How are you guys!! I am really hoping to make it bck there before summer's end! I see that you guys have been playig a lot and I wish I could be there to rock out with you!!! xxoo
As a long time fan of CLR (obviously! I run the CLR fan page!) I was truely blown away by your performance Sunday night. I know you all had a long weekend, but energy was not lacking in your performance. You made the 7 month pregnant girl dance! I felt your energy. And I could see you all feeding off of Ryans. Your circle of never ending charisma and passion for the love of music and entertaining people all over. You give us the taste of metal in our mouths and damnit! I love it! My friend saw you for the first time, and mid way thru she says to me, "I will drive you ANYWHERE to see them again! I love them!". Congratulations. You officially rocked all of PA's socks off.
All I can say is WOW!!! The 2 1/2 drive to see you guys on Saturday was well worth it! I always liked you before and enjoyed your music but your new singer has made the rest of you even better! He has a phenomenal stage presence and an incredible voice. Everyone needs to get ready - you all are going to kick some serious ASS!!
After finally catching a full show with your new singer, let me just say WOW!!! Not only is he an awesome singer and a strong frontman, but he has given the whole band (who was already tight) a new edge. It's no wonder you've been packing the clubs!
So glad I got to see you guys while I was home this weekend.... absolutely loved the new singer! You guys sound so great together. Can't wait until next trip back!
I miss Greg, but I have to say that I'm really diggin' the new lead singer. Checked the show out at Pelly's in Altoona on Sunday night, and I was more than pleased. Excellent stage presence. I'll definitely come out again!
