The band's love of 60's and 70's soul music blends with an ability to riff emotionally through modern jazz, soul and lounge. They can get down and dirty too, proving it by winning Best Band for Soul and Jazz-Rock at the German rock and pop awards 2005.
In summer 2007 Lionel Richie asked the band to play as support for his tour dates all over Germany!

Soulmusik und Nu-Jazz mit deutschen Texten? Klar, für candycream kein Problem! Mit Songs auf höchstem musikalischen Niveau überzeugt die Band regelmässig das Publikum in den Clubs und auf Festivals und nicht zuletzt auch internationale Soul-Legenden:
Mr. Lionel Richie persönlich fragte die Band, ob Sie im Sommer 2007 mit ihm auf große Tour gehen wolle – es wurde einer der Höhepunkte in der erst jungen Karriere der Band. Und auch die britische Acid Jazz Legende Incognito wurde kürzlich auf candycream aufmerksam. Der Lead Sänger der Band, Tony Momrelle, hat sie nach London in sein Studio eingeladen und wird im Sommer 2009 einige Songs mit candycream aufnehmen.
Candycream sind inspiriert von der Liebe zum Soul der 60er und 70er Jahre und der Leidenschaft für moderne musikalische Strömungen. Die Songs von candycream entstehen meist aus einem initialen Groove oder einer Akkordfolge, um die sich die Ideen der übrigen Musiker formieren und Songs mit einprägsamen Melodien und extrem tanzbaren Grooves entstehen lassen. Aktuell arbeitet die Band in den Downhill Studios München an Ihrer neuen CD, die im Sommer 2009 erscheinen wird.
