“NEVER FEAR TO ASK WHAT IS ART? AND WHAT IS TRUE ART. TRUE ART can only be TRUE if created
with an awareness that only the creator can achieve through mindfulness by paying attention to where the creation
takes them and where they are taking it. No mere school of thought, style, form, technique, skill, non-skill, subject,
no subject, niche markets, investors, politics, religion, countries, companies, science, media, rules, roles, culture or
fashion can take the TRUE ARTIST there, only a TRUE ARTIST can by being aware and being present in their
being.”

“My contribution to ART WAR is not unlike other art movements, Fluxus, Dada, Surealism, where artists drew up,
signed and published standards for what they wanted to project into a culture, both together and individually.
Especially individually. Which often needs a sort of special support, emotional, etc., plus inspiration, friendship,
sustaining power, power in numbers, learning from each other, getting pissed off and making up or not making up,
looking at the most common things in new, re-imagined ways, understanding that something deeply important in
culture has fallen off the freeway, to the point now, where I am sure many artistic associations will be springing up
spontaneously as they always do during boring stressful times, as Art War is now. When times become so "thin" you
could fall through, then true art always raises it's ugly head and looks around and says, "screw this shit. Let's make a
circus". A demand for artists to once again be seen as playing roles as "creators, healers, searchers of truth, holders of
ancestral stories, rememberers, free thinkers" asking only for a fair seeing, a fair hearing, working toward building
webs of truer culture while respecting original voices, and, directly away from the image of the artist as a mentally ill
genius.
We're seen as laughing stocks. Stereotyped worse than Gypsies. As ear-cutters, bums, tramps, lunatics, crazy, self-
centered, jerks, drug addicts, jackoffs, thieves, posers, criminals, lazy, vain, pompous, talentless, mentally ill,
perverted, lost in lala-land, a bowl of assorted "visionary" nuts. I'm almost seventy. A life long artist. Student days for
me were I think a little different for me I think. Back then, only a few people in a class moved toward art. Wanted to
be artists. Now I get the feeling that because of websites, nearly everyone thinks they are an artist. This is often false
vanity and false pride nowadays.
One high school art teacher helped my dawning career a lot, more than she probably ever realized. Margaret
Maxwell used to yell, "If anyone in this class paints a fish with bubbles coming out of it's mouth, I will confiscate the
wretched mess, rip it to pieces, put it in the wastebasket, then, most unladylike, I will step into the basket with one
foot and crush the ugly thing beneath the heel of my sensible, yet considerable shoe". She was laying out a boundary
for us, trying to push UP, with humor.
That's what Art War is for me. Pushing up with humor and resolve, enjoying others "of the same kick in the basket".
If artists are guilty in this mess, it is mainly for not telling people when their work stinks, something we used to do all
the time. I mean, if they ask us. Not to hurt them, but to help them. We got out of the habit some decades ago and
it's completely out of hand now. Art P/C is raging. My god, the crap I took from great artists in my 60's North Beach
days, and how grateful I am for it now. We pushed each other creatively. We both encouraged, and were critical.
We offered possible solutions. Some were taken with great appreciation, some not. It didn't matter. We were even
cruel in a way if need be, but somehow, it worked better to help produce more authentic work. I will work in the
direction of creating, healing, and humor, to make my own work renewed, growing and vibrant. Then, life is worth
living for me.”

I can't say it any better than Frida Kahlo:
"I paint my own reality. the only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through
my head without any other consideration"
It's a daily fight against the enemy influences mentioned in the Declaration of ART WAR so that I can maintain the
state of being Kahlo is talking about. With those distractions woven into everything that's inflicted on us through
popular "culture", and especially woven into the "art market", it's no small challenge.

“We as artists have become an uninspiring collective. Stagnate in our ideals and presentation we continually attempt
to pass off rehashed garbage as an act of creation. Creativity is dead and the artist is to blame. We’ve allowed every
jackass with an instrument, a paintbrush, a camera, or a canvas to call themselves an artist. Our title has been
usurped by mediocrity. We’ve catered to an undeserving, disinterested mass. We’ve became inclusive rather then
exclusive. The average spectator feels just as much an artist as the master painter. Our works have been reduced to
wholesale. Something readily discarded. To call myself an artist has become embarrassing…this title is an insult.
We have built ourselves a pedestal, as artists are a narcissistic people. We errantly parade ourselves as architects of
emotion. Our way of life has became a sought after illusion. In an attempt to glorify our position as artist we’ve
mangled the very term. Groveling for acceptance from the masses we cling to the latest ideas and trends losing sight
of our one true goal….to reach deep within our humanity and pull out a piece of ourselves that others are unwilling or
incapable of seeing within themselves. The artist acts neither as catalyst nor as architect. We are simply a candle in
the darkness, exposing those small pieces of human nature rather left buried.
To those of us truly inspired: are we even aware of our job as an artist? Is it to promote our brand, to hand out fliers
and peddle our merchandise like some fucking street vendor? Is it the accumulation of fan and status that inspires us
to create? This is what we have been reduced to; this is the New Way of art.
In a culture of complacency and inaction we are encouraged to accept this New Way. We have become puppets of
corporation, tools of their mass marketing schemes. We should rid these ills from our conscience and once again
reach deep within and reclaim our title as “artist”. This is the Art War to me. An attempt to reclaim art as art rather
then a piece of readily discardable merchandise.
The artist should be confrontational, aggressive and explicit. Our art should expose our deepest secrets, destroy
social convention and should encourage others to question themselves. It should be obscure and occult; it should be
hidden from the passerby. Art should be embarrassing; it should mirror our desires, mirror our disgusts, mirror our
fears, and mirror our insecurities. If our art does not these things then it is nothing more than social mimicry and we,
the artist, have failed.”

“Art Militia hereby declare Art War on everything!
In a time where we as artists should lean back and just take all the shit they're shoveling we rise. We rise above the
religious dogmas, poltical harlotry and the view of what art should be, and we aim to destroy it all.
We must never settle for being inside the frames, always push outwards and rip the frames apart. If people ask for
nature-art we give them industrial. If people ask for fucked up expressionism we will give them minimalistic
colorfields. If people ask for a watercolor-painting we paint with coal and blood. We must always paint what we are
and feel, never ever what anyone else wants. We will take back the word ARTIST from all those who claim it these
days. We will bleed our innermost feelings out on canvas, wood, glass, walls or whatever is available. We are also to
blame for letting us be bought, letting us give up control of our work.
The same second we stop giving our most in our art, they have won.
People may think this is a joke, but it is WAR. A war on boredom, on people telling us what is and isn't "tasteful" or
beautiful, or the view on what art is. We as artist must reclaim the word and make it meaningful again.
Art is what we breathe, and it's the blood that keeps pumping through our veins. It's just not "something you do in
your sparetime", it never was just a hobby. For us Art Warriors it is and always will be so much more.
When you breathe, bleed, cry, laugh, work for something it's worth fighting for, living for and even dying for. This
ART WAR is now, today, tomorrow and always.”

“…Amongst the younger people this might be the case, anyway, you have to encourage yourself, YOU have to change
what is happening...not so much with some of the people from my own generation, i just look at Max Lerou, the
poetry slam organiser, who was instrumental in creating the coffeeshops in The Netherlands (56) Q 65 guys, Joop
Roelofs and Frank Nuyens, who never submitted to what society wanted but made their own music (both 65),
armand, dutch protest singer, who has used his TV as a garden ornament for the last 20 years (63) Nicko
Christiansen, who shelters renegades (59) his base player Jeroen, who is around the same age and who has dropped
out of forced registration and ID, terminated his TV subscription etc. Marcellus a painter from Rotterdam who has
done same, Ben van Es gallery owner who shows renegades, my friend Gary here in England who paints peaceful
pictures with gunpowder, usually used for violent purposes (VERY creative!!! needs a special license for the
gunpowder.) What a statement!!! None of them particularly blessed in the looks department, none of them
interested in money and/or fame. Art is there to make people think, to give them pleasure, as a meeting place for
likeminded people. WARS NEVER solve anything, they just kill lots of innocent people, mostly women and children
who are usually brown. Or black. Or Muslims or all three . - they do not ever matter anyway, only rich men and their
profits (Rich mans war, John Trudell) I try not to mind too much what happens to me and more what happens to
this society. I try and stay creative. And positive.”

ART WAR
“We must fight in order to save a vital resource. A resource that has been despoiled and depleted by the nonsense of
advertising and contemporary politics.
The threatened resource of our imagination must be defended at all costs.
Art is a defense strategy.
We drift aimlessly down a river of boredom and compliance. On the river banks we see the smouldering debris of our
collective cultural heritage. The defunct mythologies, dusty exhibits and cheap trinkets for the tourists.
We find the whole pantheon of dead gods and sentimental redeemers, as meaningless and inacessable to us now as
anything dug up from ancient Egypt.
We witness with glazed eyes, the pyrotechnic spectacle of trivial pop-ephemera, endlessly excreted from the
bloated bowels of the consumer culture.
A panorama of terminal images and artifacts. A desolate psychological wasteland of fragmented icons and
weathered architectual ruins.
Is it possible that from this cultural junk and bone yard, we may salvage the necessary components to construct an
escape vehicle? Can we create an interior space where our personal and private mythologies may freely unfold?
A tableux, where the discovery of our truer selves may be revealed and a happier universe be permitted to exist.
“I am truly honored to have had some influence on the Coyotel aesthetics. It is truly important work you are doing,
I am inspired. I must make special note of the Declaration of War on the eye of the beholder. Something I have
argued recently. This neither here nor there attitude of all art is in the eye of the beholder, it is all ultimately
subjective and that art cannot not be measured, NONSENSE!! I say.
Of course standards exist and one strives to meet those standards.
Another problem is the question of work, which many of the so called slacker artists and video artists and lay-abouts
who probably do not come from working class families, who, thanks to their privileged circumstances are able to
worm their way into galleries and publications and not do any real work, for them art need not require any real effort.
I have seen for example an artist video themselves lying in a bath tub and submit it as art. This actually got onto a
television arts program. Well for a person who has had to work in factories, warehouses, unloading shipping
containers and sifting through shit (literally) at a recycling plant, I understand the importance of work, art requires
effort. It also goes to those who believe an artist is someone who can just point at something and it becomes art. This
seems to exist elsewhere in our culture too, celebrities these days do not have to actually DO anything, they just are.
There is a class of people who have enabled the least among us to rise to the top. We should look to Levi's illustration
of Baphomet where the hands represent the sacredness of work and the flame of the imagination burns brightly
above.”

Art War?
Here's your motherfucking art war - What the fuck is wrong with you motherfuckers? You think your shit is so
motherfuckin' important? Why the fuck can't you see that visual art is a bunch of motherfucking bullshit. Yours,
theirs, ours. All of it. What? - you gonna complain that you not getting the self-indulgent praise of strangers? You
think they should spend their motherfucking hard earned cash to support the likes of your motherfucking sorry ass.
What, you a motherfucking martyr? Fuck You!
With all that's going on in the world, don't you think that the best way to "protest" all this motherfucking nonsense
is to STOP MAKING IT! DESTROY AND BURN ALL THE VISUAL ART THAT EXISTS. ALL OF IT. YOURS,
THEIRS, OURS. It's the only way out of this insanity. Burn the highbrow. Burn the lowbrow. Burn the post, pre & all
the motherfucking modernists.
Modern art. Fuck you! Post modern art - Fuck you and all your patrons you stupid bunch of motherfuckers. How the
fuck can you compare Picasso to Robert Johnson? Picasso was a fucking jerked-off douche-bag. How the fuck can
you compare that fucking asshole retard Marcel Duchamp to the pure genius of Son House? And don't you even
motherfucking try to explain how to compare that piece of rat shit damian hurst, or that motherfucking wall street
cocksucker jeff koons with the pure truth of Elmore James, Howling Wolf, Bessie Smith, Muddy Waters, the list
goes on... You dumb motherfuckers probably never even listened to any of these great geniuses of the past, have you?
You crank motherfuckers don't know a god-damn motherfuckin' thing about anything, ya bunch of sorry ass
motherfuckers.
And all you whining motherfuckers, think the world owes them a motherfucking favor with corporate or government
sponsorship and grants? Fuck you! The world owes you shit. With all the fuckin' misery in the world, what the fuck
makes you so special, ya fucking asswipe? Your work sucks, you suck, and anyone who ever paid money for your
fucking artwork sucks. Conceptual art? You motherfuckers should go crawl back into the womb. "mommy, my eyes
hurt from the bad art"...
And all you other whiney motherfuckers who think you're so motherfucking brilliant by using other shit to paint
with, like shit and piss and motherfucking puss and snot. What the fuck are you trying to prove? You should have
been a motherfucking hospital orderly, or a motherfucking janitor. You'd at least be helping your fellow humans,
despite their politics, or beliefs, you bunch of motherfucking hypocrites. Or how about helping an animal and adopt
one from a rescue shelter, and care for one. No, you motherfuckers would rather go to a motherfucking breeder, the
fucking scum of the earth, so you can boast to all your motherfucking chic friends.
That's the problem with all you motherfuckers - It's all about you, ain't it. "I, Me, Me, Mine". All about your
motherfucking little pieces of canvas and paint and your next motherfucking solo show. All about how you can get
your stink-ass foot in the motherfucking door. Go fuck yourself. You motherfuckers have got nothing on the purity
and truth of a child's scribbles all over the kitchen walls. That's fuckin' truth. There's your motherfucking real art.
More honesty, integrity, and truth in a child's crayon scribbles, than all your sorry ass waste of paint and puss, ya
snot-nosed motherfucker.
Hey, you want minimalism, go paint your neighbor's porch. Help somebody out for once in your pitiful
motherfucking life. How about some random acts of kindness to strangers. Any of you motherfuckers out there ever
do that? Even just once? If all of you motherfucking artists did just one good thing for a stranger, or better yet, for an
enemy, don't you think the world might be a little better than it is right now? You motherfuckers just don't get it. It's
all just one big fetish orgy for all you tattoo'd and pierced motherfuckers. All you trendy goofballs. How
motherfucking proud you all must be. Fuck You!
You want to make a difference? You want to walk the motherfucking talk? The best thing you can do - Burn all your
motherfucking art and put the ashes in a motherfucking fruit jar and sell it on ebay, and give the money to a
homeless person, you conceited, ignorant motherfucker, you. You should be motherfucking ashamed of yourself.
Every god-damn motherfuckin' one of you. Art cannot move any motherfucking mountains. It only moves checkbook
balances. That's the motherfucking truth. That's the motherfucking way it's been since those motherfuckers took it
from the caves to the fucking churches and then the motherfucking corporate offices. It's all motherfucking poop-
shod bullcrap. And there ain't a motherfucking thing you can do to change it.
So, go paint yourself into a motherfucking corner, and shit in your hat and punch it. And remember what the man
said, "he not busy being born is busy dying"...

“I'm not particularly part of a movement and while doing creative things is part of my life and probably the closest
thing to a religion I have, my identity doesn't rely on the title of "artist". That said, I think the intent, and partly the
effect of this would help to remind people of why they do what they do, or to make them think about why they
began to do what they do. I think that sometimes, with the internet and all, people spend a lot more time blogging
and etc about what they do than actually doing it.
It also seems a way for people to at least ostensibly network in a manner that is not entirely akin to posing comments
on myspace, and it's clever in a way that people can get to the marrow of something personal to them by way of
something as wide reaching as art. So in short, you don't owe me or anyone else anything, and I'm not asking you to
get up on the soapbox to prove yourself or anything like that.
I've known Leyba's mannerisms long enough to know that this thing, unlike a chain letter, will grow and evolve, and
take on a life of its own. I don't consider it spam, and I think that when I see the end result it will have some
noteworthy aspects of it that I might consider innovative within the internet model.”

Listening to Gustav, and laughing.
What is so funny, I know.
It is that they all try to hide, ignore, even lie from the
truth of what life is.
I stand alone, laughing.
The only real humor in life, is the naked ape.
The rest of the worlds creatures do not attempt to sway from
one side or the other, they just are.
They are the Satanic third side.
Duality is the way of man, yet they claim equality.
Amusing lot, yet oh so sickening.
They make up their minds according to popular opinion. One
minute this, the next minute that. White people are black,
and black people are white.
They swap cultures, the things they say are most sacred,
like fashion designs.
One moment, "Gangs never existed in my day; but now we have
red and blue... "says the professional at Thomas Ollie's
building.
What then, is high class and low class, if not gangs?
Purely willful ignorance to the very person she is.
Yet they demand that others take their courses in order to
willfully do as they say is right.
Naked Apes are dictated by men who's only value from life,
is the invention of the poor, money; and this makes them rich.
Words are but a virus on that which one is trying to express
in words. The unspoken language is the forgotten language,
only used in bar rooms and whore houses.
But the crutch of using it, is money.
Barter would show all too much about people. So they took it
away. It dictated who was worth life, and who deserved
euthanasia.
Now with money as dictator, in this Orwellian past, the lazy
slobs who refuse to be willful to themselves, are some how
in control.
Are the strong and able, weak of mind? And the weak of body,
strong in mind?
None are strong in heart, except those who wish harm, on
others and themselves. It is their cover. Their mask. To
want to help. "Beware of those bowing the lowest, for they
are probably reaching for the carpet."
I see clearly the fingers of the Naked Apes God. Religion.
Television. Politics. Psychology. It is all too obvious to
anyone who would go without all of them, for just 1 month.
Maybe two for the conditioned.
"Bring only one thing with you to that deserted island; what
would it be?"
I reply, "My solitude on that island, away
from all of you."

“War- I wish not to fight but this does not make me a pacifist.
Living as I have chosen to with little regards for limitations has allowed me to experience freedom. This freedom we
all have whether we allow ourselves to posses it.
Anger can be a great tool but so can clarity and knowledge of ones path with out it.
Honoring the knowledge and visions that pass through me,
Sharing and encouraging others to do so,
Always being open to learning and teaching,
These have given me joy and hardship both.
Living as an artist has not always been easy but truly whose life has been easy? I cannot condemn nor judge others
lives by my own. I can only create and hope that what has inspired me will manifest inspiration and the will that has
driven me to create will be powerful enough to influence others in to nurturing the creative self.
These thoughts have proven truthful, if you wish for change in the world- create it.
Art is a powerful tool, one of the most powerful to create a platform for thought, dialog and change amongst those
who share no common language even though the words we may speak sound the same.
Art- encourage people to create even if you (I) don't care at all for what they have created. I am sure there are many
who could give a shit less about what they may gaze upon that was so profound for me to make. Encourage yourself
to make/create.
Taste is subjective. Stop whining and create!”

Why We Wanna Be Amoebas
Do not be fooled by icky-sweet intellectual pretentions: The literary world is a beastly Darwinic wild, as vicious as
The Sun King’s court, with a caste system that rivals Inquisition Era Spain, built on blood, suspicion, intrigue, and
conformity in the name of “progress”: The highest strata are those born with the divine right of ambition and
mercenary charms who stake their position by feeding off those “beneath” them- the lower strata- the social
bunglers and the botched, those who possess stunted ambitions and un-developed charms. The higher strata will
sneer clever quips that essentially equate to “not enough blood cry,” or “theirs is the prittle-prattle of an over-
privileged brat.” Though the lower may grapple for a quick come-back, they usually prove themselves unable to find
metaphoric vehicle and are thus pushed down a level, unless they succeed with a counter-attack and then they
advance. Jeers are typically near-sighted and reserved for the strata directly below or above. Sometimes, this ugly
dynamic reverses itself; the strata will offer acclaim, yet only to boost or sustain their position. These compliments
tend to distinguish themselves in the form of declamatory platitudes such as, “He/She is the next ___________ “, or
with “wide and deep” critiques so artfully written that they surpass the text they purport to praise. No matter
which literary realm- academic, small, or “underground”- it is all the same: Big fish, little fish, strata feeding off
strata, until you reach the lowest strata- the amoebas- the one cell creatures who feed off the oxygen of their
creations more than blood, and otherwise do not give a flying shit because they are too busy swimming in blissful
ignorance, though sometimes surfacing for air long enough to scream, “Kindly get your nose out of my ass!”

I support my brothers and sisters in arms during this art war! I support them because of the slew of mediocre shit
that's being passed off as art in my cafe's and galleries! I support them so art can continue to progress and never
remain stagnant! I support them so that we can say to all of those art teachers around the globe that art is not only
trees and cups! Art is many things, not one of them being a concrete Platonic "Form"! And we fight against the
propagation of the cycle of wannabe millionaires throwing paint at a canvas and selling it to rich fucks for an arm
and a leg. "That's not art! That's SHIT" is our motto and we will take it to the grave with us! And fuck stereotypes!
The movers and shakers of the art world were never pigeonholed into one thing! Art has been a succession of talent
meeting conceptualization, and furthering it to the point of super realism! Above and beyond is our battle cry for we
fight for the continuation of real art everywhere, and a slap in the face to sellers of shit! Making a buck and not even
putting a buck into it. I want my artists crazy and unpredictable! I love my art chaotic and dark! Most of all, I love the
passion behind every great artist! This LOVE for art will persevere!

In any War one must first assess "Who is the Enemy?” In my mind the Enemy is "The Mainstream Media" or
"Shepards" which have brainwashed the general human population into a mass of popular culture receptors (or
"Sheeple") for supporting the consumption of the product de jour. Whether it is a particular politician or a product
of any kind children are programmed even inside the womb to follow wherever their masters lead. How do we fight
such a War when the enemy has invaded nearly every particle of our world?
For me this becomes creating new ways of seeing. The enemy promotes the idea that there is ONE way to see and
one VALUE standard and they are the arbiters of such. I say NO! The way I see the world and my values are not
controlled by the enemy. Since I do not follow the values of the enemy it is difficult for the Sheeple to appreciate
what I do because it does not fit into the mold of acceptable or familiar product models. I do not blame the Sheeple
for this I blame the Shepards because they are aware of what they are doing. As warriors in the Art War we must
make the Sheeple aware of the goals and tactics used by the Shepards. I believe the way to win the Art War is to
encourage the Sheeple to simply refuse to be led by showing them the greater value of personal liberty. How do we
do? We simply do that for ourselves and set an example for others. This is not to attempt lead them on our chosen
paths but to reveal valuable alternatives.

The Power and Experience of Your Sexuality is Limitless. Ignorance Destroys It.
Damien Echols (of The West Memphis Three), written on Death Row, Arkansas
“Sex and art are the two most powerful tools mankind has, and both reach into the deepest part of our psyche (or
soul). Sex and art are magick’s greatest vehicles, and nothing has more power to transform us. Both, when done
properly, are expressions of love and unity. “
From Sun Tzu's Art of War
“If we do not wish to fight, we can prevent the enemy from engaging us...All we need do is to throw something odd
and unaccountable in his way.”

It is a sign of the times when so much effort is being spent in taking away a persons right of free speech or expression.
Those in power however are able to commit crimes which destroy lives , family and the earth and are not held
accountable. There is a saying "justice can be served as long as you have a big pocket book".
It is an artist responsibility to show to true nature of our world, why should they be punished for making us see the
truth.
there is alot i can do and say about how much i love you so ill keep it simple, i chop my thing off for you, and you can re-attach it, so its bigger. so dont show it on mtv, or go and wear skanky cloths.
