Sounds Like
We've heard people mention Jane's Addiction, Garbage, X, Cheap Trick and Sleater Kinney when talking about us. On our last tour people were saying it sounded like Motorhead with female vocals.
...Devoid of any pretentious, fluffy mewling, CFS is a good ol’fashioned punk band without the overly jaded drug/booze sodden indifference. They have a good, tight, well composed beat and tremendous vocals that never overreach the music-
Might Afrodite, NY Waste
...With it’s thunderous drums and sweet harmonies, the tracks swallow you into a seedy Ramones-infused world of late night carousing-
Dan Vermont, The Owl Mag
...Infectious tunes that just want to make you keep blasting them out. Ruby Jordan has a wicked voice and backed up by an excellent band so I can see them doing well given the right breaks. Voted Best EP 2005
Steve DIY, Punk Globe Magazine
...Catchy, very catchy stuff. I found myself humming their tunes days later-
Peter Altescu, Varla Magazine
We are back for our Yearly AIDS BENEFIT!!! Looking forward to seeing you all again!
Rock and Sex. What more could you want?
Candy From Strangers has been tearing up rock venues across the country since 1999 and amassing a loyal following on both coasts. Based in San Francisco, the band has recently been gaining momentum by touring and playing showcases, street fairs and clubs. They have a huge local following, radio play on west coast college radio and internet radio stations and increasing sales on CD baby, independant retail outlets and digital distribution by Chameleon Music. The latest CD, Cat Butt Tattoo is now available on iTunes and TowerRecords.com and is now sponsored by Sam Ash Music.
CFS's live shows and material is at last capturing that elusive buzz, and proving themselves to be a band of style and substance.
This is a band that has all the ingredients necessary to make it in rock: memorable songs, great performances, charisma, and unique style. Influenced by classic rock, punk, glam and pop, Candy From Strangers has broad appeal. Driving tempos, clever lyrics and an old-school dirty delivery makes you remember why you love rock.
NEWS:
CFS returned to NYC for five shows in late March, including shows at The Continental, The Trash Bar and Original Sessions National Buzz Band Search at Love Sexy's.
Candy From Strangers is going back to the studio in April and May to complete their new full-length album produced by Chris Dugan (Green Day's American Idiot) and is set for release in summer of 2006.
