i like a large variety of music. i like some older rock/pop music, some classical music, a little mild contemporary country and i even listen to Hawaiian and tropical tunes. Some musical soundtracks are good. However, i mostly listen to Christian music.

1Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Movies
No, i have never been in a movie! LOL Just kidding ...
i like movies that are based on true stories, movies that leave me with something to think about, movies that teach a lesson or at least have a good, decent plot, movies that are filmed on or near the ocean, the beach, the tropics, etc... because of the scenery. i like some comedies and some of the older musicals. i like movies that touch my heart and soul - especially Christian-based movies.
Television
i don't watch a lot of tv but i do watch "Survivor" and "LOST". Those are two of my favs.
TV that i like and watch occasionally are:
Cold Case, CSI (all of them), Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order:SVU, Without A Trace, Numbers, DateLine, 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, and a few others. i like to watch shows on the Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, History Channel, TLC, Food Network, National Geographic, Science Channel, HGTV, Lifetimme/LMN, Hallmark, and Disney sometimes ... and of course, the (few) Christian networks that i get.
Books
The only book(s) i read regularly at all is the Bible, however, i do enjoy reading other books sometimes. A few of my favorite authors include: Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer, Stormie Omartian, Max Lucado, Kay Arthur, Susan E. Waldrop, C.S. Lewis, Henry Cloud, Charles Stanley, James Dobson, T.D. Jakes, Neil T. Anderson, Henry Blackaby ... . i also like books by Randy Wayne White. We listen to audio books when we travel, mostly mysteries, dramas, etc.

Shipwrecked!
The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.
But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened- everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me?" he cried.
Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.
It's easy to get discouraged sometimes when things appear to be going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.
For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a
positive answer for it.
You say, "It's impossible."
God says: "All thing are possible". (Luke 18:27)
You say, "I'm too tired."
God says: "I will give you rest". (Matt 11:28-20)
You say, "Nobody really loves me."
God says: "I love you". (John 3:16 - John 13:34)
You say, "I can't go on."
God says: "My grace is sufficient." (II Cor. 12:9 - Psalm 91:15)
You say, "I can't figure things out."

Pass this on, you never know whose life may be in need of this today.
There are some days (and weeks) that we ALL feel our huts are burning.
A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert.
During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.
The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him,
"After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away.
But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."
LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

i am a child of God. i am a follower, servant, ambassador and lover of Jesus Christ. i am a very imperfect person, a sinner saved only by the grace of God. i don’t always say or do the “right” thing. i don’t always have the “right” words. i don’t always display the “right” behavior. Nothing about me is always “right”. i don’t have all the wisdom, i don’t have all the knowledge and i don’t understand everything – nor will i ever. Despite all of my faults and flaws, God loves me anyway. i desire for people to always see Jesus in me but i know that i so often fail in this area. i fall short more often than not but God (and only God) knows my true heart.
Nothing “about me” really matters at all. The only one that REALLY matters is Jesus Christ! He is my Lord, my Savior, and my Friend. He died to save my soul from eternal damnation. i can do nothing without Him. i am nothing without Him. He loves me and i love Him. He loves you also!!! He loves you just as much as He loves me and because He loves me is the only reason i am alive today. i am a spirit that has a soul that lives temporarily in this body while on this earth. My permanent home is in Heaven. i am not, nor will i ever be perfect, but i will continue to strive to be more like Jesus every day that i live on this earth. i mess up a LOT! i’ve been a total mess most of my life and i still am a mess in many areas but i’m not as messy as i was yesterday and tomorrow i won’t be as messy as i am today. (Thank you, Jesus!) What matters the most about who i am is WHOSE i am.
Now, for those of you who want to know more “about me” ~ those things that make me “candy” and the things that distinguish me from others ~
My real name is Candy Gale. I live in a small southern town in rural Mississippi. I have been married to my wonderful husband for nearly 23 years; we have no children. I live with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and our four lovely Havanese dogs that God has blessed us to take care of. My dog, MerMer, is blind and i believe that God allowed this to happen to show me a multitude of things that i needed to learn. MerMer has a fantastic attitude, despite being blind and loosing his ability to do some of his favorite things – like run in the yard and play with the others, etc. In spite of all the things MerMer can no longer do (or see) and despite all the medicines he has to take he still has the most positive attitude and he doesn’t let those unfortunate things hamper his love for life. i truly have learned a lot from this little dog. Yes, that sounds strange, but it’s true.
My husband works five hours from us now (at ULL in Lafayette, LA). He comes home on weekends when he can and i miss him a lot. He is planning to find a house there so i can be with him and the entire family can all visit back and forth. We will not be leaving Mississippi permanently for this is our home while on this earth; we will just have two homes and spent time at both places. He will be home for the summer and i am looking forward to having him here.
i have three much older siblings and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and they all live within an hour of us here and my mom, who is 86 years old, lives 12 miles from me and i love her with all my heart. She’s a wonderful woman and she lives the Lord so much. i am very blessed!
i love people, i love nature, i love animals and am constantly amazed at all the magnificent things God has created here on this earth. i can see His hand and His love in every single blade of grass that grows, in every cloud in the sky, in every grain of sand on the shore of the oceans. i seem to notice the small things in life the most for they are actually the biggest blessings of all.
i REALLY love the ocean and the beach. i love feeling the breeze blowing and the sand between my toes and the sun shining on my face. i also love the thunderstorms, especially when God stirs the water. i love the smell and the color of the ocean and the feel of the water on my body.
For me, the beauty that our Heavenly Father has given us is beyond words. i can see His work in the smallest, most insignificant things to the vast mighty oceans that cover the majority of this earth. When i am sitting on a quiet shoreline of the sea, just Jesus and me, i can hear Him whispering through the gentle lapping of each wave that kisses the shore. Yes, He is with me no matter where i am but Jesus and i have a very special bond that i experience in the deepest of my spirit and soul ... when we are at the beach together. It's our special place! :) This is why "the beach" means so much to me.
There are many more things “about me” and if you want to know more, just ask. i am an open person, generally speaking, and sometimes i am too open. Sincerity, honesty, loyalty and confidentiality are very important to me. i don’t like negative confrontations, deception or dishonesty or people who are fake ~ just be who you are, be honest about it and if you don’t like it ~ change it but don’t fake it.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

Some other people (but not all) i wouldn't mind meeting are: Kathryn Kuhlman, Aimee Semple McPherson, Watchman Nee, Joyce, Beth, Creflo, T.D., Max, Stormie, Kathy, Nicol, Darlene, Natalie, Rebecca, etc. Then there are others such as Alexander Selkirk and Tami Oldham Ashcraft, Robert Dean Frisbie, Lucy Irvine, Hallie Erminie Rives, and Tom Neale (check out who they are.) And, i would certainly like to meet several of my myspace friends 'in person' someday and anyone else the Lord puts in my path.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence ? Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War. They signed and they pledged their lives,their fortunes and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants,nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured. Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his Ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts,and died in rags. Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay,and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,and poverty was his reward. Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton,Gwinnett,Heyward,Ruttledge and Middleton. At the battle of Yorktown,Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire.
