Christina Anicet’s surprising and refreshingly original fusion of pop, rock and classical will bring a smile to your brain as you soak in her compelling and unique song structures. Her passion for music comes out strongly in her eclectic, attention-getting compositions. Listeners find themselves startled and impressed to hear Anicet’s distinctive music.
Passion
For Anicet, music is a need of life. And her love for music comes out in ever note. “Music is something I cannot live without. There is not a day that goes by that I do not have the radio playing.” Music is a way of helping people deal with life. Life comes at you hard and heavy and leaves you in the ditch sometimes. Music can help you find your way out. Especially if it’s the inspirational tunes of Anicet. She finds this sort of comfort in music – both as listener and composer - and listeners find it in hers. “Music helps me cope with my feelings.”
Individual
Anicet believes that every song is an individual. This is particularly true with her music. While every song boasts the flavor that screams out that it belongs to Christina Anicet, each of her compositions also shines with its own personality and addresses a particular facet of the human soul. “Each song is a story in it’s own, both musically and lyrically.” The fuel for her songs comes from life experience. Music can transform bad to good by filtering it through music, creating entertainment and catharsis in one beautiful package. “I like to take bad things and make them good by turning them into music.” And sometimes a simple but meaningful quote will arise that inspires Anicet and she uses that as a foundation. “I like to think of a simple quote that describes something of a situation and just work around it.” Whatever the source, her songs are magnificent examples of songwriting.
Audience on Her Mind
One reason Anicet’s music is so universally appealing is that – besides her efforts to draw out emotional truths in her songs – she always has in mind what listeners will enjoy and respond to. “While I’m writing my music, I like to think about what my audience will relate to.” She also brings multiple levels of artistic experience to her creative process. “I am also an actress. I have either been in a play or musically directed a play at school. I just finished on Romeo and Juliet, which I was assistant sound designer for, and sound board operator. Now I’m working on ‘Stop Kiss’. I play Callie.” Her multi-faceted experience of the art world makes her a creatively experienced person and it shows in her music. She is currently working with A&R Select, the leading independent A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.

There is saying and I think it goes something like this; “You are only as strong as your weakest link.” Fill in the blank.
That said, Mic-Club will no longer be held at Lilly Coogan’s. Had I not had trust in the final outcome the universe has scripted for me, I would have been tempted to cry. I must admit, few tears came down but then I reminded myself of the truth. The truth is, change is good but it is not always an easy transition.
Neither Frances nor I will be at Lilly Coogan’s any longer but Mic-Club still lives. I’ve been loving, hosting, sound engineering, and on good evenings, I’ve been at the grill for over two years giving all my great love to Lilly Coogan’s. Thou shall remember my burgers. Hehe
Frances and I were keeping the torch alive never missing a Thursday evening. If I was sick, a good ol’ hot totty will keep me going. We were committed to Lilly Coogan with great respect. I mean c’mon, who can not love that little homely environment. We must say thank you Lilly Coogan’s for giving us this space that allowed all of us fight the intimidation of performing on stage. Thank you for providing us with the space allowing us to meet such honest, authentic souls. Thank you the Mic-Culb supporters who without you it would have never been possible. You are Mic-Club. You all are Emotionally Naked. Remember we were committed to Lilly Coogan’s, but we are still committed to Mic-Club.
I love you all and we will meet at another location. You people have bestowed upon us a wonderful, illuminating experience. Your courage to share your talents with all of us is respected and appreciated which is why Mic-Club still has a strong pulse.
This account will no longer exist for as mentioned, Mic-Club will no longer be held at Lilly Coogan’s. We have our official Mic-Club’s myspace account.
I am having an acoustic show tomorrow night to celebrate my Birthday. I'd love for you to come out and celebrate with me. There will be several special guests and the more friends that come the better.
