Hello, my name is Anina, I am 25 years old, my nationality is German and I live in Berlin. I am a singer/songwriter and professional dancer.
Since november 2007 I have voice lessons with reknown vocal coach Danny H. Igel who helps me a lot to grow as an artist and as a vocalist. In 2007 I could place one of my songs in the top 5 of an international online songwriting contest called 'Song of the Year'.
I have written, recorded and produced all the songs you hear in my myspace player (additional information on the left). I went to music school from age 5 to age 18 to forget everything I have learned afterwards. I had classes in choir, violin, piano, orchestra, chamber orchestra and music theory. After I finished grammar school (2002) I moved away from Germany to Salzburg, Austria for four years to study contemporary dance and ballet (2002 - 2006). During my studies in Salzburg at SEAD I had voice lessons for 1 year (2003) with Robin Dietz in Freilassing, but had to quit due to a lack of time which I regret. Much later in 2007 I picked up voice lessons with wonderful Danny Igel which I already mentioned in my introductory sentence.
I write my songs in English because I love the language, had bilingual classes in grammar school which I adored, went to an international academy in Salzburg and wanted to be a diplomat when I was younger. Almost all of my closest friends don't speak German and I want my lyrics to be understood by many people all over the world.
I'm currently working on a new album which will - in all probability - be called "Turbulence", but that may change really. You can listen to some of the new material in my player: Origin, Turbulence, Time, Stop Ticking... All the lyrics are in my blog. It is a concept album. I don't want to say too much right now, because I am still searching, researching, listening and travelling through these sonic shapes and stories.
