Society of the D.E.A.D. (Direct Evidence After Death) Paranormal Research Group
Society of the D.E.A.D. was formed in April of 2002 with the goal of unlocking the mysteries of the paranormal with an eye on science rather than superstition.
My group has a project in the planning stages that you may find interesting. It is our intention to be on the North Atlantic Ocean on the spot where the great luxury liner RMS Titanic sank. We shall be there on April 14/15th of 2010. The 98th anniversary of the sinking.
Our plan is to record any paranormal phenomenon that may still exist on that spot of the ocean. As I am sure you are aware...great tradegy leaves a paranormal fingerprint. If successful, we hope to record the first evp's...(Electronic Voice Phenomenon)...from this location.
Our investigation will not be limited to audio research. There are many factors to be considered so we will be operating a variety of detection equipment ranging from EMF detectors...(Electro Magnetic Field)...film and digital video...film and digital still photography...night vision and geiger counters.
While our primary avenue of research is science we will also have a number of "sensitive" individuals that will employ their skills in the detection of a paranormal presence. Our plan is to be on board two small launches about five hundred yards away from the vessel that transported us but the sea may prove to be to rough to accommodate us.
If that is to be the case then we will conduct our work from the vessel we came out in. We also plan to have an internet feed and satellite phone so that we can have direct input from those that have been following our work over the years.
This research session will provide a number of challenges that my group will be unaccustomed to but we are taking steps to over come these difficulties. First and foremost will be the issue of the massive amount of electronic equipment that we use and the fact that this enviorment will be less than ideal.
Batteries tend to have a very short period of active time due to freezing and the laptops will be subject to similiar shortcomings. These are minor problems which shall be overcame long before we set out on this ground breaking experiment.
We plan to start this session fifteen minutes prior to the time which the great liner struck the iceberg and it shall conclude fifteen minutes after she went down. To conclude our time on the water we shall place more than 1500 white roses into the water. One for each victim.
We also intend to travel to Halifax where many of the Titanic victims are buried. We will conduct similar research there. We have other interesting trips planned as well.
A year after the Titanic Endeavor Tour we plan to travel into the center of the Bermuda Triangle and the year after that we will be in London, England in the White Chapel District...among others...where Jack the Ripper took his victims.

I have always enjoyed history which is probably why I take my photography so seriously. I never leave the house without my camara and enough rechargable batteries to power a small town until the end of time.
I have taken over 24,000 digital photographs since late 2002 and my video clip collection is at just under 600. My photographs and video clips represent the many different faces of life ranging from automobile accidents to rainbows and everything in between.
You may be wondering why I photograph automobile accidents which may seem a bit morbid at first but the answer is fairly cut and dry. I have been hit by drunk drivers twice in my life. The first time was very serious and I had to watch a ten year old boy die and the second time was minor.
Ever since then I photograph accidents whenever I happen to come upon them...which at times seems excessive. I make my photographs available to those involved for insurance reasons (free of charge) and if the accident was caused by a drunk driver then I attempt to document that for the victim.
I have found this to be rewarding because there are few things more revolting than a drunk driver bitching at the person he just hit because his car is now damaged.
If you ever decide to follow my example and photograph accidents for this purpose just remember to get all of the angles that you can and always be sure to stay clear from emergency personal.
I have come across some very unusual situations as well. One night while on my way home I happened to find a brand new Dodge Caravan in the middle of the road resting on it's roof. There was no-one around but the interior of the vehicle was littered with beer cans. Not very difficult to figure out what happened there.
These represent small peices of history to me. I suppose that my photography is my way of being remembered. Even though one day I will be gone I can be fairly certain that my photography will survive. If you would care to see some of my work...I have nearly a thousand images posted on this profile.
Other interests include writing which has been a life long passion. My first entry into the field of professional journalism occured back in 1997 when I owned and operated my own magazine which was carried in fifty-seven stores in southwestern and south central Pennsylvania.
Even though the magazine was well recieved in certain markets our profits were too low to stay afloat which led to the demise of the publication.
Since then I have had two journalistic projects that I have become very passionate over. My first book was entitled Fate of the Sunracer and the second was Mindscape...a reflection of the human condition. Both are unpublished at this point in time.
I have also taken the time to write many of my life experiences which I have considered to be worthwhile. I have lived an interesting life which, in my opinion, has fueled my writing engine.
I have another story that I have been working on that you may find interesting. It is entitled "An Escape Into Years Gone By". It is a work of fiction with a nice twist.
Those contained within the story are based on actual people...my friends to be exact. It still needs a bit of polishing and a few of the chapters need expanding but otherwise I think it is coming along well.
There are currently twelve chapters posted so feel free to give it a read at some point. Those stories can be found posted in my blog section along with many others.

Music has always played a very important part of my life. I have noticed that some people will listen to a particular selection and enjoy what they hear while others will absorb the music and draw energy from it.
You can always tell these people from others because they are just as content whether they are taking in Disturbed or Motzart...if the piece contains energy...it's all good.
Have you ever noticed that really powerful music tends to make you drive faster? I was on the Interstate one evening in my Trans-am doing seventy or so. Another one bites the Dust came through the speakers and before I knew it I was approaching one-hundred and forty.

關於我： My name is Matthew but I have went by the nickname of Sandman since I was nine years old. I am now 40 and I live in the thick of the Laurel Mountains in Southwestern Pennsylvania. I have always loved Pennsylvania and I shall always call it home no matter where I may be.
I have many interests ranging from photography to the paranormal sciences. I have been the point man for a paranormal research team for nearly seven years now. The group is entitled Society of the D.E.A.D. (Direct Evidence After Death)and our primary goal is the recording of evp's(Electronic Voice Phenomenon).
An evp, put simply, is the recorded voices or thought emissions of the dead. I would be more than happy to discuss the finer points of this science with anyone that has an open mind.
I would also like to take a moment or two to tell you about the Titanic Endeavor Tour. Our group will be on the North Atlantic next year on April 14th/15th. It is our intension to bring back the first recorded evp's from the location were the RMS Titanic sank. We are very exicited about this project for many reasons.

History has also been a driving force in my life for as long as I can remember. I have always believed the old saying that those who do not learn from history are ultimately doomed to repeat it.
Special areas of historical interest would include: ancient Egypt...the American Civil War...and World War Two with a special focus on Naval battles and submarine warfare.
I am also an advid outdoorsman...or I was...I am getting older now and I have generally lived my life with a pedal to the floor attitude and that is catching up with me now.
My health is getting worse and I am getting ever closer to my grave but I have come to terms with that and you know what...I'm cool with it. I have been smoking four packs of cigarettes a day for twenty-two years now and that has taught me one thing...despite what I may have believed when I was younger...I am not indistructable. It's kind of funny how sometimes we feel like that when we are young.

Anyone that embraces race hatred...anyone that drinks and drives...and anyone with a closed mind. If any of those three include you then we have nothing to say to each other.
The three personality types listed above are what I consider "Toxic" and not worth my time. I have known many people as I have traveled through this brief existence and I have saw human ugliness on many levels. When it comes to reaching new lows...mankind is not bashful.
There are good people out there but mankind overall acts in a manner that one would expect to see in a zoo. I do not know if we shall ever grow out of this stage...I can only hope so.
