About me: I am a 31-year-old high school English and journalism teacher currently residing in Elizabethtown, KY and teaching in Meade Co./Brandenburg. I have lived in several states including Texas, Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I guess I am a southern girl at heart but I sure do love the mountains and the water. Photography, travel, music, family, friends, animals, books, and more are all part of who I am. I have two cats...Tucker and Merlin...Watch the slide show and see if you can decide who is who.
The past two summers have provided opportunities for adventure, and this summer gave me the greatest adventures yet.
I spent three weeks in JAPAN this summer, including 9 days in Tokyo and then 9 days in the MUCH smaller town of Hitachiota. Hitachiota is in the Ibaraki prefecture on Honshu Island and has a population of about 60,000. While only be about two hours from Tokyo in my host area, I was able to experience the best of both worlds and spent over a week on the coast, but was still be in the mountains.
After my time in Japan, I spent a week in South Alabama visiting my good friend Doris and photographing a wedding for a friend of hers. It was a unique wedding, but seemed like the most stress free event I've photographed yet. They were also the happiest couple I have ever seen.
Thirty-six hours after flying in from Alabama, I met up with my best friend Mandy and flew to Boston for 10 days in New England. What an awesome trip. Check out the past blogs to see what I was doing in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. It was beautiful!
Now it's time for school to start back and I have been busy planning for the students. Check back periodically to see what's been happening!
In the meantime, check out www.shannonsphotos.smugmug.com for photos from the trips.
Who I'd like to meet: Someone who makes me laugh, enjoys music, the outdoors, travel, and who is serious about his career, but not so serious about the rest of life.
Am I the first to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on myspace? hehe. My fever has flown - just in time for Aaron to sink into the flu of despair. Maybe that Weston and I have a date Saturday ;)
okay i know you probably don't have time to watch movies...but at least go check out the song on my profile. the guy is freakin awesome! the movie is called "once" and it's a little irish film that will inspire you. :)
I closed on my house a couple of days ago. But of course, I can't decide what colors I want to paint the rooms and haven't started doing anything yet because I can't make up my mind. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??????????????? Myspace Layouts
