Singer-Songwriter Open Mic hosted by Geoff Bartley: Geoff Bartley is a prize winning acoustic guitarist and a nationally respected singer/songwriter whose songs are grounded in traditional folk, roots blues and jazz. Both nights Geoff hosts at the Cantab Lounge have been voted Best in Boston in local entertainment media. Geoff welcomes musicians from all points of the compass. Most open mic talents play acoustic guitar and play songs they've written, but almost anything goes. Play covers? Fine. Instrumentals? Also fine. The level of talent is fairly high and the atmosphere is tolerant. Starts at 8:00PM. No formal cover charge but a $5 donation is requested.
Bluegrass at the Cantab hosted by Geoff Bartley:

Candy's Jam hosted by Candido Delgado:
Candy's Jam is one of the longest running jams in the history of this country! When you show up with your instument and sign up, chances are you are going to be performing with some of the best musicians New England has to offer. Blues, R&B, Jazz, Rock and any other style of music you can think of could be on the menu. Candy is a brilliant guitarist/musician, capable of performing well over 1,000 songs at the drop of a dime. Candy has been the house guitarist at the Cantab Lounge for more than 30 years!! Starts at 9:00PM - Free admission.
The Chicken Slacks can be described in one word: PARTY! Taking cues from the classic soul and funk greats like Otis Redding, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sly and the Family Stone and Stevie Wonder, the Chicken Slacks deliver a "one-two-three-four!" soul punch that will inevitably move you to shake it. The Boston-based Chicken Slacks have developed a reputation as one of the greatest club and private party acts in town. A skin-tight rhythm section (dubbed the "Engine Room"), gritty horns (the "Chicken Slacks Brass Attack") and a stirring vocalist ("Diamond D") combine to create a powerful stage presence and a big sound. Dance, romance, bump, grind, sway, stumble, sing along, reminisce, celebrate, and get down to the mighty "Slacks." Starts at 9:00PM - $5 admission.
The Fatback Band are the premier R&B dance band in Boston. Candido Delgado (former member of the Drifters, Freddy Cannon's Band and Little Joe Cook and the Thrillers) is a veteran of the R&B music scene and is an astounding guitarist.

I am looking to SELF publish my collection of poetry and would like some advice from those who have done this. I am going standard size and need to come up with a cover, format everything from microsoft word. If people have advice, please send me a message and add as friend if you want :-)
Jay: It's the Maine Blues Diva, Diana, you met last Saturday at the Lounge (Fatback and Sax). I want to tell you that we had an AWESOME time at Cantab!! Would have asked to do a number, but was recovering from laryngitis. No doubt Cantab is now our fave Boston blues/funk club. When a Monday holiday hits, I'm hoping to get to your Sunday jam with some of the boys I sit in with. The Fatback boys had great material and energy.
Thanks for the memory and the Cran/Vodka too! Diana Knowlton
