The Zebra Magazine's Interests
General
Zebras and fun! oh and the Orange Street Music Club! The Gunners. Fun and Parties. Cooking. Wine. oh, and did we mention fun?
Music
Yes please. Lots. OSMC - Lounge On the Farm, The St.Dunstans Street Festival and Kent Music Festival in particular! But we don't care where - just so long as bands find a place to play!
Movies
Love films - hate all the ones we get to see. That's having children for you.........
Television
We have tellies. Mostly to watch MTV, QI, Spooks and the mighty gooners!!!!!!! Though at this point we should point out that only Alex is a member of the Gooners - Jo supports Plymouth Argyle!
Books
Loads. Too many to mention. Hanif Kureshi. Intimacy is probably his best. Though he is scarily observant. On a completely different tack - The Bedford boys is a fantastic book too - but be prepared to cry. And, I never expected to hear myself say this, - but Paul Hendy's 'Diary of a C-List Celebrity' is one of the most brilliant and funny things we/I ever read!
Heroes
Captain Jack Sparrow. David Bowie. Hanif Kureshi. Vice Admiral Carl Olof Cronstedt. Ghandi. Denis Bergkamp, Andy Halsey. Martin Luther King. Paul Hendy, Bill Clinton. but probably not in exactly that order......
About me: Among other things Jo and I (Alex) write and co-own the Zebra Magazine - a Gig Guide and listing magazine in Canterbury. Yo the THE MIGHTY ZEBRA. Some of the pictures are of our launch party. We carry free listings for all ents, gigs and happening happenings in Canterbury. We just want people to have fun.
You can check us out at www.thezebra.org
Who I'd like to meet: More people having fun at gigs - especially the St.Dunstans Street Festival. We need more fun - and we need more gigs! And why hasn't Andy Halsey released a new album? The last one was brilliant! And what's the point in George W Bush any way? Wanka! So we won't be meeting any Republicans from the US until they come to their senses and ditch the warmongering lunatic!
Hi There! Just to let you know we are playing at the Whitstable Labour Club in Belmont Road Whitstable on the 26th April about 8pm,it would be great if you could make it.Its £2 on the the door(members free) but the beer's cheep! Hope to see you there.Should be a good night.
