Just wanted to post a review I wrote that was posted on Horror Reviews:
This review is my first official “Complimentary Screener” review!
Honestly, I have never seen a David Nelson movie, nor had I ever heard of him before.
I had the fortune of meeting author Franklin E. Wales, about 5 years or so ago, at a ScreamFest Horror Convention, in South Florida. [If you have never read a Franklin E. Wales novel, I highly recommend that you do so – His first novel is Booger and his second novel is GameMaster – both are Fantastic! I am eagerly awaiting his third novel, Variation] Anyhow, Frank is co-owner of Marquee Motion Pictures and the interviewer of this movie. I have kept in contact with Frank, over the years, and he e-mailed me the other day, asking if I would review this film – good or bad. I said, of course, even though, as I stated earlier, I had no idea who David Nelson was. I must admit that I was a tad bit nervous, as I would hate to write a bad review for someone I know, personally. Fortunately, I need not have worried. The movie was a joy to watch!
The movie opens with Frank, in Chicago, where he is going to interview David Nelson. Frank states that most people who visit Chicago would go to see the Sears Tower – he, however, chooses to go see David Nelson. David is quite a character – he seems to be extremely hyper – he talks a mile a minute, all over the place (probably due to his constant guzzling of coffee) yet, at the same time, he seems like a very amiable guy. David makes the movie thoroughly enjoyable – it was quite funny! (For instance, every time David mentions someone who dies, somber music begins playing in the background – subtle things like that) I was caught up in all of the stories that David has to tell (such as Rob Zombie saying that David is his favorite modern filmmaker!?!) and I am very glad that I now know who he is. Now, to actually check out his movies. . . I think that I will start with Devil Ant. . . .
