Formed in 1999 by Sapp, Ginn, and former bassist Jimmy
McCall. Band played increasingly weird death metal for two and a half
years
before adding Simpkins to the line-up and going instrumental. Recorded
the Spatial/Design EP in Dec. 2002, which was promptly released the next
year by North Carolina label Tribunal Records. In 2004, Canvas released their debut LP, Sublimation, again through the Tribunal label. In Feb. 2005,
Canvas signed with Sensory Records (home to Spiral Architect, Gordian Knot, Zero Hour, et al.), who just released the band’s second full-length album,Penumbra Diffuse. Slaughtering, pillaging, and world domination to be
released later this year.

Found the samples of your music at the Progday website. I was very impressed with what I heard and plan on getting all your music. Reminds me a lot of King Crimson and Adrian Belew.
Thank you very much for accepting me too among your friends. Indeed I already did what you said. It was my very first attempt of familiarizing myself with the musical expression of an artist whose CD I picked up for a review.
The new album is awesome! You guys are playing in chapel hill too! Ill definatly be there. $60 for tickets though you guys better play for like 3 hours.
HUNTER! Have you ever heard of the band Wicked Innocence? I remember when i asked you about Human Remains and Demilich a while ago you said you were into them in high school. Well Wicked Innocence sort of reminds me of both of those bands, and i've been listening to their album Omnipotence a lot lately. Just curious to see if you have any thoughts or opinions on them. Let me know.
Hope yourself and everyone around you are doing well. TAKE CARE
" If Yes at their peak had been Don Van Vliet's instrumental band, then Canvas Solaris would be their Starcastle. Since Yes was nothing like that, Canvas Solaris is absolutely unique -- and this is their best album ever. Gentle waves of exquisite beauty vie with ultracomplex progmetal eruptions, and yet it never descends to a mere chopsfest. Fifth-order differential equation mathrock that you can hum along with; something new in the progressive field. "
I wonder if anyone else in the kown universe has discovered that Myspace will not display the word orhidektomy when you type it with a "c" instead of a "k"?
That's what the previous comment said when I typed it.
Heat Distortion Manifest is actually my most listened track off of the album and yes it is good to finally have all this old stuff recorded on this album
