Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Canyella is now stranded in the busy grey damp metropolis that is London which serves as the Grand Central Station of world music in Europe.
A grab-bag of emotion, from crazy elation to heartbroken desperation but always with hope and the knowledge that family, friends, a some of the best tunes available to humanity (and perhaps a bottle of sljivovica and some chocolate) will see you through. Flamenco, Rumba Gitano, Tziganes, Raks, World 'Fusion' - good music to bring people closer together or to hog all to yourself...have a dance and hug each other.
Still open for bands!!! One of Wales’ biggest and newest events, encompassing 2 days, 4 stages, 60 bands, and the capacity for 3000 people! The festival is for charity, with proceeds going partly to help projects in the local community and partly to help young musicians in the area, with advertising, their equipment, etc. The ethos is very much that it is run like a community, so people helping each other out rather to help cut down the exchange of cash. We aim to work with ethical companies, aim to actively promote both welsh music, and environmental issues and solutions. Tango Inn is back! In July we had a smashing launch, a truly unique event!
