Oscar Night® Sacramento
Dust off your tux. Deck yourself out with diamonds and glitz and think about selling the kitchen table for the evening gown of your dreams and help a great cause at the same time. The countdown to Oscar is underway! Capital City AIDS Fund (CCAF) once again brings tinsel town to Sacramento with Oscar Night® Sacramento.
This coming year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, March 7, 2o1o and will be held at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento. The evening will feature an elegant sit-down dinner, red carpets, huge projection TVs, a live television feed of the Academy Awards®, a great audio system, and an exhilarating silent auction.
The 2o1o benefiting agencies will include: CARES/Breaking Barriers, Sunburst Projects, Golden Rule Services, Harm Reduction Services, the Helen Veress-Mitchell HIV/AIDS Scholarship Fund, and CCAF’s HIV Education & Outreach program.
As a result of your support, the 2oo9 event was very successful. All net proceeds went to providing food, education services, treatment and more to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. However, economic difficulties persist, and budget cuts threaten many of these agencies. Without your help, they may not be able to continue vital services for their clients.
We hope you will support this charitable event through the advance purchase of one or more tables. We invite you to join us at a Table Sponsor Party, which will be held on Monday, November 9, 2oo9 at 5:30pm at Lucca Restaurant, located at 1615 J Street (corner of 16th) in Sacramento.
Those who purchase tables at the Table Sponsor Party will get premium seating with the ability to pick your table location, table sponsor recognition in the program and on screen at the event, and a discounted price $1,150. After the party, tables will be sold for $1,250. Check or credit card payments will be accepted. Tickets must be purchased before January 1, 2o1o.
Thank you for your support of Oscar Night® Sacramento. If you have questions or would like to purchase a table, but cannot attend on November 9th, please e-mail capcityaidsfund@yahoo.com or call 916.448.1110. We hope to see you at the Oscar Night® Sacramento Table Sponsor Party!
The Capital City AIDS Fund (CCAF) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1995 to raise money in support of HIV/AIDS services in the Sacramento area. CCAF is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors made up of community leaders including business professionals, media representatives, and government officials. Specifically, CCAF’s activities support a community fund that donates to various Sacramento area non-profit agencies that provide HIV/AIDS services. CCAF has raised and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Sacramento area HIV/AIDS service providers. Since its inception, CCAF has successfully staged many events including the Capital City AIDS Dance-O-Rama, the Boo Bash, and the high profile event Smash Hits with Elton John and Billie Jean King held in 2001 which raised over $500,000, and the community’s highest profile annual event, the Sacramento Valley AIDS Run Walk. CCAF also organizes the annual Oscar® Night Sacramento (formerly An Evening with Oscar®), one of the social events for the winter season, which is listed in Sacramento Magazine as one of 50 things to do in Sacramento, as well as the NorCal AIDS Challenge, a 4 day 350 mile bike ride through inland Northern California.
