ABOUT CAPELLE

Through gritted teeth, countless members and a cross to bare the size of a 30 foot RV crashing into the side of a gas station en route to Chicago, Capelle forge their way through an exciting 2012. It’s rammed to the nines, with an April press tour of LA, Chicago and NY, new album out in August, CMJ Music Marathon in October and an extensive American tour starting late this year.

Having garnered critical acclaim from the likes of Guitar World, MSN, The Independent, BBC Introducing, Arthur Kade and TNT, it would seem the ball is starting to roll for one of the few rock/electro bands the UK cares to offer. Rising out of the urban-alcopop-swigging-jizz-fest that is the current London music scene, this is one band who are intent on bringing real music to real people.

Musically it resides in a space between dark and deliberately catchy, laden with the blues, infused with the electronic. Built for melody, but voiced in textures rather than guitar riffs, it’s met with stonking drums to build a sound that is brashly unashamed. It all sets the scene for a voice built by an eccentric hyperactive kid from outback Australia, into a man who commands attention at six feet two inches tall, adorned with a ‘tash and a trucker cap.

Their Second album 'Crooked Deluxe' is due for mainstream release in 2012. It features a hidden remix of the album’s single 'Muscle Car'. This album hangs together more succinctly than the first and sees a maturity in Nic's song-writing and a return to a slightly grittier production value. It was also recorded in Nic's house in London.

Let’s not mix words here. This is music intended to be welcomed by the masses. But it’s the raw emotion of a group so close to the heart of making proper music for the sheer fuck of it, the complete and utter love and passion for it, that makes this band something special to watch. It all makes sense in the live context and you’d have to put a fuckin’ bullet through them if you tried to take that stage away.
