CAPITAL D born Miguel Arce Jr. on January 8 in New York City has grown with a tremendous passion for music which began as a youth when he was inspired through Hip Hop music but it wasnt until the early 90's that reggae became his true musical love. He admits being influenced by artists such as Shabba Ranks,Super Cat,Nicodemus,Dirtsman and many others when reggae was just getting radio play alongside the very popular Hip Hop music. It was at this early stage that CAPITAL juggled back and fourth through his love of playing on sound systems where even today you may hear the artist transform into a selector and play a collection of dubplates from his very own CALIENTE SOUND, which he admits to being his personal hobby and love away from being the artist CAPITAL D. He also admits being influenced by current reggae icons such as Luciano,Anthony B,Sizzla and Capleton among many others but it wasnt until CAPITAL D recorded a song called "SHINE YA LITE" and gave it to one of Connecticuts most popular DJ's named ZIG ZAR who at the time had Connecticut locked while playing on a local radio station. The Fire that ZIG ZAR had started with "SHINE YA LITE" made most dj's, radio stations and sound systems in the area want to get a copy of the tune and in no time, just about every reggae program in the Connecticut area was blazen the song. CAPITAL D went on to Jamaica to record a collaboration with Jr. Kelly entitled "GUN BOYZ" which with the help of Mighty Mike, Big A and IRIE FM, Jamaica was now introduced to CAPITAL D.
