I'm a Sci-Fi freak, old and new. From X-Files to Supernatural. I LOVE old classic movies with Jimmy Stewart, Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hephburn, Cary Grant, Doris Day... And anything that makes me laugh because laughter truly is "healing for the soul" . I like to keep things 'lite' in here but occasionally something heavy blurts out and lands on the keyboard.
I'm an Animal Rights Advocate and work with feral cats and foster dogs. I LOVE kitteh LoLz ! I find animals are much preferable to humans. If only more humans had doggy hearts...notice I didn't say cat hearts ;-). I'm also a bit of a computer geek and can slap a computer together for you. I enjoy playing my guitar. I love reading good fan fic and I'm into graphics. A Jack of all trades and King of none. Maybe a Queen of two or three. I love artists of all types and love to see, hear and read original works. It's an honor, so don't be shy.
I'm a Washington D.C. native, though have been here and there around the world. Usually for work or vacation. One very long stint as a missionary in S.E. Asia ( I know, Get Out ! ) with a mobile medical team ages ago. Wish I could do that again, but this time in Africa where friends Heidi and Rolland Baker are working hard (Mozambique) and the need is great. I've done the DC society scene thing so I'm not into playing society girl. Been there, done that. It's highly over rated. Though I'll give you a nice tour. I'm single but not looking to "hook up". I like to hang out in jeans with friends, dogs and kids. I'm easy.
I developed a disease similar to Lupus that has curtailed my wild days and limits me considerably. It changed my world drastically since I was very physical and active. I'm counting on a remission so that I can throw my backpack over my shoulder and head for the airport again.
Did I mention my twisted sense of humor ? Yes, I'm quite the sick puppy. I absolutely LOVE a good laugh and my insanely funny friends. Okay -that's enough for now. Now go e-mail me. Do it Do it ! Send me something funny. Hugs.

They cut me off, I see :) I must be too wordy today. So, anyway, the doc gave my mom a script for a walker, but didn't tell her that she couldn't drive. That just blew my mind. Apparently you do not have to be able to walk, to drive. Which, again, explains a lot, about traffic. And I used to have a male cat who would have to climb on the highest spot in the room, whenever a guy came over, so he could look down on them. I think it was a - this is My territory and don't you forget it kind of thing. He was always nice to the guys, he just liked to look down at them :)
I finally had to break down and call a furnace repair guy today and then spend all day here, waiting for him. The only upside to it was when my kitteh saw him, she got so a-scared that she hit her lil head into the wall, trying to run away as fast as she could. She give that scardy cat, it's name, for sure :) Been doing the easy fix - go downstairs, turn off the furnace, then turn it back on again and it will work, but this morning it just would not be happy when I did that, for anything (that is, until I called the furnace place, then it started working, but I figured I better still have them come out anyway). The guy looked at me funny, when I told him when it's happy and why. And that it goes off at night and then doesn't want to come back on (in my opinion because the hot water isn't running at night and when the hot water is running it is more likely to work for some reason - yeah, I know weird, but I think my house is possessed or something). Things are tense here :) To put it mildly. I took my mom to the neurologist yesterday and while I get that he probably sees way worse cases, I just did not understand his reasoning (that and he didn't look like a doc, he looked like an IT guy who had just wandered into the place and was playing a doc). He said my mom had lost over fifty percent of her strength and her reflexes in both her legs but somehow that does not translate into whether or not she could drive a car (cause you don't need reflexes to drive a car - actually that makes sense to me in watching the real world and how crappy people drive, but not in common sense and that you should kind of need them) and he wouldn't tell her that she couldn't drive. Which explains half of the people on the road to me, kind of now, if that's the case. It would be easier on me in one way, if she was okay to drive herself, but I would worry big time. Because she has good days where I think she is okay mentally and bad days where I really don't think she should
