"SICK & INSANE" - LYRICS BY CAPRICE STARBRITE & MUSIC BY HASHI
"WATCH ME FALL" - LYRICS BY ANNALISE HYLTON & MUSIC BY RUSSELL OLESH!
Grew up in a musical household influenced by Jackson Five, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, Cheryl Lynn, Phyllis Hyman, Marlena Shaw and many others. A Westchester girl at heart...I was originally born in New Rochelle, New York. Later moving to Mt. Vernon and then the Bronx. Also lived on the west coast for a little bit (Washington) and then came back home (Bronx). My musical journey began at the age of 9, performing in several plays as a member of the Glee Club during my elementary school years; given the wonderful opportunity of performing at Lincoln Center here in New York City. A couple of years later, a talent that was always a part of me emerged and would become my heart and soul and the reason why I breathe...DANCE! I was pulled out of my current school and accepted into Harbor Junior High School of the Performing Arts; becoming principal dancer, during my 3 years, of the junior and senior dance ensembles. After graduating, I continued to pursue dance in high school under the direction of Ms. Burns while still performing with my junior high school teachers. After high school and at the suggestion of Ruth Sistaire, I joined Barbara Fraser's Modern dance class 4 days a week and began peforming at several of her Modern; Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Brazilian dance workshops on a regular basis. In these workshops, I had the opportunity to choregraph my own solo pieces that I must admit were something to see. :) In the midst of auditioning for several people, I became a member of the Kushinda Dance Company and the Joyce Harrigan Dance Company (also under the suggesion of Ruth Sistaire). A fellow dance-mate requested my services in helping her with her production; performing at Castillo Cultural Center and Henry Streeet Settlement-choregraphing one of my last solo pieces. During this time, I decided to find a vocal teacher and happened to run into one that would forever change my life, Kathy Jenkins! This is where I learned my technique and skill and performed at the Gateway Theater and Chelsea Common Bar & Restaurant.
For 10+ years, I have been back-up for neo-soul artist, Dexter Myers and his Brown Ambition Band. During this time, I have gotten spots in other bands (Rhythm Republik doing co-lead vocals and ZoZo Afrobeat doing backup vocals). Have offered my vocal talents on tracks by producers and songwriters, as well as live stage performances with other up and coming artists. At this moment, I am ready to take the world by storm with my own material! So, producers/songwriters, please do not hesitate to contact me. I'm open to all genres of music.
ANOTHER NOTE: I AM UNDER NO CONTRACT WITH ANYONE. IF EVER YOU NEED BACKGROUND VOCALS OR VOCALS FOR YOUR PROJECT, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO SEND ME A MESSAGE AND WE'LL TAKE IT FROM THERE. PEACE, LOVE AND SMOOCHES
