Caprisha was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL. in a family full of talented singers. Caprisha was introduced to the music world at the age of 2, being hidden backstage in clubs and venues, while traveling with her mother who was, at that time, pursuing a career in music as a singer.
This "girl next door" beauty, with a “country twang” in her speech, was too quiet and shy to even realize her enormous potential and talent. Caprisha was lovingly teased for being the only one without talent in her family. But that all changed, when at the age of 16, Caprisha stunned friends and family at a talent night during their family reunion. After her performance, word quickly spread of her talents and she began to gain confidence and come out of her shell.
Following in her mother's footsteps, Caprisha became a well-known and requested solo singer. She sang with the world-renowned radio and recording choir of First Church of Deliverance, in Chicago. She also performed with her talented a cappella gospel group In Harmone’, winning many talent shows and competitions.
In addition to her growing singing career, Caprisha found a love for acting in live stage plays and performed in several gospel musicals in Chicago at famous venues such as the Arie Crown and Regal Theater in "The Devil & The Choir" and "Decisions", among others.
Barely out of high school, and requests for her talent growing, Caprisha juggled school and her passion for pursuing music and theater. After graduating college with a degree in Education, Caprisha decided to expand on her talents and entered the world of modeling. She traveled all over the U.S., gracing many magazines such as Ebony and Jet. She was featured in runway and campaign ads for many companies, including Fashion Fair and Mizani. She has modeled on nationwide programs, including The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Jenny Jones Show. Caprisha won many modeling competitions for her skills on the runway and in front of the camera. Despite her success in the world of modeling, Caprisha put aside that career and moved to Los Angeles to intensify her pursuit towards her ultimate dream: music.
This multi-talented artist has been blessed to travel the world, gracing the stage and singing with renowned singers such as Chaka Khan, Thelma Houston, Richard Smallwood, Eric Benet, and LINA, to name a few. Caprisha has also been featured on radio and television with her voice in commercial jingles through campaigns with McDonalds and other vendors. Her current single "Flow Like A River" is featured on Moodstar Recordings compilation CD "Save Your Soul".
Although talented in many areas, music is the passion that continues to fill her heart. Always striving to increase her skills in all areas of music and entertainment, Caprisha loves being in the studio and recently graduated from Audiograph International under the instruction of world renowned JosÈ "Chilitos" Valenzuela. She received her certification as a Protools HD Music Operator, increasing her knowledge of Protools and studio engineering.
