Hello fellow creative compassionate people,
I've been doing guerrilla soup kitchens at the NSO located at MLK and Third in Detroit's Cass Corridor for a while now and we have experienced many friendly people who love to hang out and talk with us so we like to stay and socialize, network, help, whatever the experience brings for a while even after the food is gone and the clothing picked through.

I've been envisioning a social event where we show the love by sharing our arts and spend a little time, something that the residents of the streets and shelters in Detroit do not have an opportunity to experience and let it become a gathering of unity and strength in the community that we are all a part of.

I'm very excited about this event coming up powered by the Spacewalk Superhero energy and its all free to the homeless, so please come and perform if you can and have a hot dog with us. Food and seasonal clothing is also welcomed to offer.

The announcement:

UPR Detroit and Spacewalk is holding a soup kitchen and a variety show on the lawn across from the Neighborhood Service Organization located at 3430 Third at MLK in Detroit. http://www.nso-mi.org/services.php

Calling all artists, musicians, clowns and circus performers, actors, poets, rappers, performers of any kind, plus any practitioners of the healing arts such as massage therapy or reiki, barbers, nurses, anyone who has something to offer and friendly folks to help and socialize with us.

We are beginning to serve at noon this Saturday,, July 4th and it should last till 3pm, maybe longer if people want to stay.

So dress up like anything you want, costuming is encouraged because its fun and stop by this Saturday from noon till 3.

Peace and love in solidarity,

p. s. Call me if you have any questions or needs and I will make sure you've got it and lets talk before you come too. And Please pass this bulletin on!

Drew- I really love your Steels HTW recording! Great songs, great singing and playing all around. I'm totally studying Josh's guitar playing on Crazy Arms- he really captures the vibe of Jerry Lee's piano playing. Hope we get to do some jamming this year at Wheatland. Are you coming? I've been on a tear of learning western swing tunes-Bob Wills, Maddox Brothers and Rose, and lots of Patsy. I got a battery amp so I can bring the baritone out to play.
