Captivate Kenosha Dance Company is a newly formed group of young people whose goals are to educate and inspire through enticing performances for all the community to enjoy. Captivate strives to be a positive influence on today's youth. All company dancers are ages 19 through 26 and are professionally trained in dance with a strong emphasis in ballet and jazz dance. Captivate company members live in Wisconsin and the Illinois suburbs. All dance positions in company are received through an intense audition process. Captivate offers two positions within the company; first company dancers and apprentices. Youth apprentices are teenage Kenosha dancers primarily of Captivate’s related youth group, New Beginnings: A Performing Dance Company, who demonstrate excellent dedication in training and respect for this art form. Captivates goals for Winter 2007 are to host a benefit to raise awareness about the arts in Kenosha and to hold a dance concert in conjunction with New Beginnings: A Performing Dance Company and local musicians in the late Spring. In the Summer Captivate will participate in multiple outdoor performances to provide entertainment for the community. Check blogs for upcoming events! In the Fall of 2007, Captivates goal is to represent Kenosha, Wisconsin by performing in a month long concert series of dance in Illinois entitled, Dance Chicago 2007.
