About captive state

We can mostly be found holed up in our Whitechapel Studio, but occasionally we emerge to play a few gigs with our 7 piece band. We released an EP called ‘Elmore Grove’ in September 2008, produced by our amigo Nick ‘Lemon Jelly’ Franglen. This provides a sweet taster for what to expect from our debut album.

We run a residency at The Lexington in Angel, London, where we invite bands we like to come and play at this great little venue. The night runs every third Wednesday of the month and is called Fleur-de-Lys Club!

Our name Captive State was taken, with permission, from the title of a book by writer and friend George Monbiot.
