I love movies from ALL OVER the world!! My favorite film industries are in Asia. I do enjoy American films from time to time (since American movies suck now most of the time), but I do adore the Hong Kong film industry. There are many good films from the mainland as well, but you could imagine that it would be rather difficult to make the film you want to make in that society. You'd be surprised, though, what some people have gotten away with there! ^o^ Anyway, in regards to Hong Kong, check out films by Wong Kar-wai and Fruit Chan. Amazing stuff. Changed my life <3
Everyone knows I ADOOOOORE horror movies. The best horror industries are in Asia. American horror films suck balls 99% of the time (The Strangers being a welcomed exception). I love horror films from Japan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan... That's where horror is really blossoming. Even when an Asian horror film is just a popcorn flick, there's almost always a really intriguing artistic touch to it that American horror films never have. For examples on this artistic and filmmaking genius, see such films as "Ju-on," "A Tale of Two Sisiters," "Shutter,"... God, I could go on forever... XDDD
