Although I began my life in a tiny outpost(first 5 years spent in a lighthouse), From well before the age of ten, I knew my path lay far from home, into places that I could not yet even envision. After attending art school at Rhode Island School of Design, I moved to New York City to pursue my fabric design career for eleven years. In late 1980 I moved to San Francisco, and in the mid-80's I began painting, as well as exploring early electronic graphics. Time spent in the California deserts and Mexico, with the resulting inspiration, led me to move to the Santa Fe area of the American Southwest. Recent explorations in Hawaii have influenced me too. Many spiritual explorations followed and I am currently on the path of a health-conscious visionary artist in transition, I place great importance on the Dreaming aspect of life, natural and electronic connections. Color is everywhere in my world, from painting, hand-dyeing clothes, re-doing cast-off furnishings, eating lots of colorful raw fruits and vegetables, etc. I am also highly-interested in the raw food/sunfired food/natural hygiene lifestyle, spiritual and alternative healing. In late 2006, I moved back to San Francisco, where I am very happy to be! Our new website is www.rshuff.com, featuring my watercolors, mandalas, digital paintings, and my husband Richard Shuff's excellent photography. Stop by for a visit!
Thanks, Cara! I found the lace at the Goodwill recently, and layered, and painted a wash over parts of it to give it a feeling of dimension. I was very happy to find THE PERFECT iridescent gift-wrap, to create part of the light-catcher, in the bottom of a basket of old papers I'd saved. I used the interference paint, once again, to paint around the light-catcher, and over the piece of textured paper beneath it. The window is in the Historical Society. Jess took the pic for me. XOX
Give yourself a break, Cara! You need to get back on your feet after being so ill. Don't let everyone drag you back down. Your prayers for them will work even better than your e-mails! Love you! Take care. XOX
Hahaha! I agree, of course. Since I'm in a position where I have to make a buck, however, I need to make an effort to please my clientele. I do intend to play around at some point with the ideas that have real meaning to me. Thanks to Joe, the guy who does the soul clearings, I realize that the work I do makes certain people happy, and that makes me feel better about what I'm doing. There's a market for the metaphysical stuff, too, without a doubt. I just haven't had an opportunity to explore it yet.__I appreciate your encouragement, Cara. I FEEL where you're coming from. Thanks, and bless you! XOX
Thanks! They've grown out quite a bit since old Aimers took that pic of Spanky and moi. Can't decide what to do with my hair, Cara. I often think of cutting it REAL short as longer hair, though it looks good on me, drives me bonkers a lot of the time. I don't have a mane like yours! Mine is fine but, thankfully, not thin. I HATE it in my face! It tickles! Aaaah!!!
I think you'd LOVE the plant-life in these parts, Cara dear. It's always green and blooming. I don't do ANY gardening these days. Mother Nature is entirely responsible! I used to spend a lot of time at it...loved it...I've gotten very lazy, unfortunately.
Hi Cara!__Thanks for your comment. The window was up at the Payne Farm in the house where Herb Fisher used to live. My ex, Noel Gordon, took the pic from which I did the painting. I messed with the image a bit doing some photo editing which I find lots of fun to do.
AWESOME!!! You're a wonderment! Your connection to the plant kingdom is evident in your imagery, not to mention the etheric dimension. Great meditation tools, dear Cara, as well as a feast for the eyes! XOX
Welcome to the tribe...... Peace and Love and May All Beings Be Happy!!!!!!!!

A collage. Correct! It took about 6 months to do. I was glad when I finally glued that last piece of paper to it I can tell you!__I know I'd be impressed by SF in general! It was Dad's favorite American city, by the way. He always wanted to live there. XOX
