Caramany is largely a soul band that makes frequent forays into other genres like classic rock and pop, jazz, blues, folk and country when foraging for inspiration. Some favourite influences - Joe Tex, Chaka Khan, Paul Desmond, Hank Williams, Thelonious Monk, Tower of Power, Charles Mingus,

From late 2004 they created an extensive repertoire of self - penned songs. Caramany's music is characterised by strong melody lines, vivid rhythms and compelling lyrics. Diverse musical roots are explored including classic rock and pop, latin and jazz beats with a leavening of country and rustic whimsy for good measure...>..>
During Spring 2007 Alan and Sarah began a collaboration with the marvellous rhythm team of Christian Nokes (bass) and Tim Tandler (drums). As a duo Caramany have drive and expressive originality. As a four piece these qualities gain greater cogency with yet more dynamism. It is a heady brew.....>

Yeah Saturday was ok, find it quite difficult to play to an audience where you know everyone, it's as though you have to try extra hard. Good to see so many there though, and glad you were able to come along. I'll check out your tracks when I get home, no audio on the computer at work. Thought you were Caravan when I first saw the friends request !
