MC Carasel is a true drum and bass soldier! Whether rocking mics, raving or promoting club nights you can be sure that MC Carasel is repping drum and bass 24/7.
Carasel has been representing the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene since the age of 16, raving, buying records, promoting raves he was too young to even be let in too and of course writing lyrics and picking up the microphone. Now in 2007 and aged 22, things are moving quickly for this young MC and he is starting to get the recognition he deserves.
Originally from Worcester, Carasel now resides in Bristol where he is known for being one of the hardest working people in the city’s thriving drum and bass scene. As well as attending bookings all over the country, he also finds time to promote two successful nights; Ambush and Ricochet. With these nights he is dedicated to supporting not just your usual big named DJ’s and MC’s but also many new artists from around the country who he feels deserve to be showcased to the Bristol ravers.
In 2005 he won the Drum and Bass Arena/www.breakbeat.co.uk ‘Clash of the MCS’ competition judged by Mc Eksman and more recently in 2007 he won the Innovation in the Sun 'MC Face off' judged by Skibadee and 5ive-0 and got to perform in Barcelona, he is now being used regularly by the biggest promoters in the scene including Random Concept, Raveology, Metalheadz, Hysteria, Bedlam (Valve), Overload and One Nation, Carasel is an extremely versatile talent. He is equally at home dropping fast paced sets at some of the country’s biggest raves for DJ’s like Andy C to Zinc as he is holding down 3 hour sets at Rubiks Cube hosting the likes of Logistics and Fabio. He also reps the darker side of DNB at his Dissident residency where he as hyped up the dance to the likes of Calyx, Black Sun Empire and Vicious Circle to name a few.
It is this versatility together with his strong voice, thoughtful lyrics and the fact he always tries to compliment rather than take over the DJ’s music that made Natural Selection decide to put investment in Carasel as one of the rising stars of the future.
