| General | The North Platte River runs through Carbon County, and is home to rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout. The famous Miracle Mile is here as well, and die-hard anglers will find it easy to get lost in such a paradise. The mountains of the Medicine Bow National Forest are abundant with streams where the “brookies” can be sought.
Lakes and reservoirs not only hold possibilities for fishermen, but boaters, jet skiers and photographers
as well. When the mountains are covered with endless white powder the snowmachines come out. With hundreds of miles of groomed trails, the ride is like nowhere else on earth.
Breathtaking vistas abound, and the experience is like no other whether you are a novice or skilled rider.
Rodeos, festivals, dances, parades, outdoor concerts, cutting events, and woodchopping competitions all take place here in Carbon County.
The West awaits you . . . come take part in all it has to offer. |
