Carbon Tigers is a unique sound put together by five experienced musicians and students of the Chicago area. Since their debut show with Hydra Melody and Gentle Giants on Halloween of 2009, Carbon tigers has been establishing a sound of their own. The band has started booking gigs within the city, and is eager to please the hearts, minds, and souls of all who listen. The driving percussive elements of Jeff Simonelli, powerful basslines provided by Aaron Sweatt and explosive guitar licks of Matt Irizarry and Nick Cudone mix great with the soothing vocal prowess of Jon Bailey and his keyboard. Comparable to bands such as Minus the Bear and As Tall As Lions, Carbon Tigers is sure to have a lasting impression upon the city of Chicago and its surrounding areas.
Practicing up to 20 hours a week, each member is as dedicated as if it were a part time job. Together, the members of Carbon Tigers feel that the friendships they have with each other fuel the vibe that is emitted from the music they create. Carbon Tigers true commitment to each other and their art is what will keep the band standing strong while others fall.
Ahhh it would be my greatest wish to say sooner than later but we are hurting in the drummer department, trying to bring our songs to life. Jono (guitarist) and I (bassist) have been writing and jamming on the regular and we've got lots of new material to debut. Once we (hopefully) play enough with our prospective new drummer marc, we'll make some recordings and play some shows so sometime early next year would be a rough estimate if all goes well.
