Back in 2004 he was just a young thorough cat who had just graduated from a small college in Daytona Beach, FL trying to figure out what his next move was gonna be. Born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, CARDiAK, which he now calls himself as an MC, made a choice to remain in Florida to pursue his professional career. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing, naturally he tapped into Corporate America to see what it had to offer. Although he didn’t do too shabby after 2 years of being an educated working man, CARDI decided he wanted more than just a corporate title. Not being able to resist his undying passion for music as well as constantly exercising his abilities as an impeccable writer, CARDI decided to bless the streets with his artistry when he dropped Cardiak Arrest Vol. 1 The Mix CD in mid 2006. It was a compilation of original material and killer freestyles over industry beats. Still residing in florida at the time, CARDI distributed the cd locally as well as in his hometown of Philadelphia free of charge to the public and quickly developed a solid fan base. CARDI displayed his undeniable swagger and charisma throughout the 15 track banger and had the people in his hometown and the peeps of his adopted home in Florida reppin him hard. It was then when he decided to establish his own entity called Cardiak Arrest Entertainment. By the end of 2006, Cardi had the streets buzzing with his Vol. 1 mix cd and decided to get back in the studio to get started on a second project. By the very beginning of 2007, CARDI was about 7 full-length songs deep into his second effort which seemed to be coming together as an actual studio album. The first 7 songs were all original material with production from 2 incredibly talented up and coming producers; one who goes by the name of P. Solo aka Beatgods and another who goes by the name of Brainchild. By late summer 2007, CARDI had about 35 original full-length songs done. Cardiak Arrest Vol. 2 was originally going to be another 15 song street heater but the work from his soon to be complete second project was so solid, CARDI decided to add 5 more songs to the track list. Beatgods produced 16 tracks along with a 17th shared track, Brainchild produced 2 tracks with a 3rd shared track and Rich 111 produced 1 track to add up to CARDI’S new 20 TRACK BANGER!!!! When recently asked about choosing the track list for his new cd, CARDI said, “It was very difficult choosing the tracks that would make the final cut for my new album. I almost decided to drop a 40 song double cd (laughs) but the people ain’t ready for that!! On a serious note though, there are some very quality songs that’s not gonna make this album but I’ll find a way to get ‘em out to the public. Be on the look out for my third joint, “The Next Chapter” dropping late 2008 babeee!! But right now though, my primary focus is on the present so Cardiak Arrest Vol. 2 is now available, COP DAT!!!!” CARDI has a few features on his new album with several local, very talented up and coming rap and R& B artist. When asked about the album assist’s CARDI said, “I’m very very picky about who I work with so if I’m working with an artist, they’re definitely worth working with. I don’t get in the booth with just anyone and record joints. We definitely have to be on the same page creatively and be able to vibe on a personal level as well. The artist’s who I had come in and knock out a hook or drop a verse are all very talented, relevant up and coming artist’s such as myself who all have the same common goal as me…making music and being heard. Something great will come out of this project, TRUST!! Meanwhile, I’m still in the studio. It don’t stop babe!!” CARDI insists that he will make good on his promise to drop another cd before 2008 is over. Until then, Cardiak Arrest Vol. 2 ALL DAY!!!!
Ok people, it is March 2008 and as promised, Cardiak Arrest Vol. 2 is now available. From the sounds of it, Cardi is back to prove to the industry and the hip-hop community that he not only belongs in this game, he’s PROMINENT!!
