My boyfriend wrote on the Lady Antebellum record, which was 2x Grammy Nominated! :) Yay! Go baby!
"Me".. And Autobiographical View of... Me.
My story begins much like many others you've heard. you know, raised in a small town with big dreams and an even bigger sense of some great calling awaiting me. Harvest, Alabama was just about as small and limiting as it gets. So, i traveled a lot in my teenage years, running to and from New York City or Los Angeles, trying to figure out where I could belong and be successful. Somehow, by a stroke of luck and mostly grace, I ended up at the age of 20 in Nashville, TN. My sweet city had been awaiting 90 miles north of me my entire life.
I am an artist to the core. I am one hundred miles an hour in eight different directions and could become passionate about a grapefruit if i gave myself a good long thought about it. My parents were the perfect components for artist/musician baby-making, come to think of it. My father was a painter, a poet and emotionally deep. My mother was a teacher of music and voice and lit up every room she walked in. They were stars in our little town, I think. I mirrored myself after them as a child, but even still, that "thing" was always inside of me. I still can't tell you what "it" is, but that Thing that made me sit up at night at the age of 9 and write down a song lyric has pumped through my veins every day and night since birth. it's just who I am.
I've never wanted to be "Famous", I've just wanted to be me. Artistry has many forms, and I am in love with basically all of them. I'm also lucky in that respect, because I am prepared for my career to be a broad one, from acting to writing, music performance to being a spokesperson for the various causes I am (surprise!) passionate about. You've seen me on American Idol and several music videos most recently, and can most likely google my past adventures in this career because I have this passion for creation and achievement that I just can't shake. thank you for supporting me and giving me an audience to share it all with. The love, friendship and support of so many has been nothing short of phenomenal. I promise, I won't let you down.
You have surely heard about the tragic death of Neda - a brave young woman who was murdered in Iran just for peacefully protesting with her father on the streets of Teheran.
