Caretaker formed at Alton College, Hampshire in 1998. We began by playing covers at events organised by the college but soon started writing our own material. Shortly after this we circulated a cobbled together demo, and this culminated in our first show at the Farnham Maltings in April 99.
We have since then released several records and received extensive play on Radio 1, including the great late John Peel (R.I.P), and have journeyed through music's various pigeon-holes, travelling from indie through post-rock and heading towards a heavier, more progressive sound over the last couple of years.
A re-release of last years "The Sign of Four" EP is now available through the fledgling label, August Spies Collective. You can purchase copies of the original pressing through these links:
Hello !!!!
We're proud to announce our debut EP 'Chemicals' will be released on Monday 22nd of June on iTunes. We will also be printing a limited number of hard copies which will feature exclusive additional artwork and available only at our shows.
Check out the tunes on our page; If not just drop by and say hello.
Well done for the other night guys, you utterly rocked my world. its a shame you lack female vocals, i really think it would add a beautiful quality, a genuine substance,
but hey. im sure the right girl will just land in your pockets one day, dont beat your self up about it, perhaps a family member will turn out to be rather good.
