About me:
UK-based distributor of independent record labels selling to UK retailers and exporting to distributors around the world. Cargo Records was established in 1992 and has since garnered a reputation for working with many groundbreaking acts and labels, including speciality reissue label Dust To Digital and John Fahey's Revenant Records (which issued Grammy Award-winning box sets of Albert Ayler and Charley Patton through Cargo). Acts such as the White Stripes & Devendra Banhart were all introduced to the UK market by Cargo before being catapulted into mainstream media by major label backing. As well as being a major player in UK & European independent distribution, Cargo is also home to many independent U.K labels, including artist-run labels such as Kode9's Hyperdub label.Who I'd like to meet:
