MIKOSA EXPO FRIDAY 6 MARCH!
On friday the 6th of March we will be hosting a new expo opening featuring the MIKOSA artists. Due to the 6th publication of the latest Mikosa Magazine.
Containing again, limited artworks by 10 international artists with a special gadget from each one. This time with sketches, designs, unfinished artworks and dirty ideas by Andrea Staiano, GG Tarantola, Gogoplata, Joe, Maoma, Nico Whystyle, Stereodactilus, Tatiana, Tom 14 and Will Barras.
Carhartt and Buzzworks provides you with work of all artists and some great music by DJs Shablo and Ubee [Fakefriends], drinks and live painting. IAMFEZ aka Chris McClean EXPO!
Friday the 30th of Januari we will have an expo opening of IAMFEZ aka Chris McClean in the store. From about 18:30 we will serve some drinks and food to accompany the exposition. So, be sure to drop by and check this out.
IAMFEZ aka Chris McClean originates from a dark industrial corner of
the north east of the England. A graphic designer who started the
design studio Soul after moving back to the UK following four years of
self imposed exile in Amsterdam. Influenced by the compositions of
Reggie Pedro's paintings, the abstractness of Futura's characters and
the typographic forms Jose Parla paints. Chris finds inspiration in
his immediate surroundings; the music from the stereo, the awkwardness
of the disused factories that litter his hometown, shards of sunlight
that pierce through the North Sea fog, (in which he spends most of his
free time catching waves), and the characters at the local bowl where
reputations are lost and found.
This series of paintings 'Souless Hero's' focuses on the modern day
hero and its relationship with the decay of the hero of old.

EXPO MENT 7-11
Hello all!
On friday the 7th of november we will be having a new expo opening with Brazilian graffiti artist MENT!
ABOUT MENT:
Ment ( 31 ), born and raised in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, os active in the Carioca graffite scene with the crew Nação since 1998. His style differences from his graffiti mates through the figurative and detailed elements he uses, not only on walls all around town, but also on canvas. Spezialised in a combination of bombers (letters) and the typical sceneries of Rio de Janeiro: the endless favelas filling the green city hills with little houses and an enormous mess of electricity and telephone cables – in other words chaos - that is in contrast with high flats and buildings in rich areas of the city, he leaves a critical note to the spectator about the social inequality that marks Brazil.
Ment is respected all over Brazil because he is not only a graffiti writer, but he also teaches kids that grow up in violent circumstances in deprived areas of Rio de Janeiro.MENT MYSPACE
THE EXHIBITION:
The opening of the exhibition is at 18:30h. Of course the original caipirinha’s of “Um Minuto de Silêncio” will be served and you can forget the Dutch autumn for a bit, while drinking this tropical cocktail and enjoying the sounds of DJ Lamme Tonnie ( Rednose Distrikt).
Part of the sales of the artworks, MENT donates to the founding of a cultural centre in the favela Sampaio in Rio de Janeiro. The centre is coordinated by the graffiti crew Nação and gives youth of the area the opportunity to learn graffiti and design. This way they can learn a profession, get inspired by cultural activity and get distracted from a life in crime and drug traffic.

SLACKERNATION @ PARADISO
On Saturday the 27th of September MeBike will Host Slackernation at the Paradiso. They will transform the Venue into a playground with skateboard ramps and contests, a BMX Flatland demo, live painting, DJ's & VJ's, live bands, performance artists and the list goes on and on. It starts at 15:00 and ends at 05:00. Till 19:00 o'clock u can get in for FREE! So, Wanna see Paradiso turned into a crazy mayhem? Be there!

FLATLAND CONTEST @ MERCATORPLEIN
Sunday 21st of September Amsterdam is off-limit for cars, cars and cars. The guys from MEBIKE (offcourse knew about this) and are taking over the Mercatorplein in the BoogiedownBaarsjes. From 12:00 till 17:00 u can enjoy live painting, drinks, music and a Flatland contest. So, be sure to check this one out! Bikes are taking over on the 21st!
