I am Elisa Cariera formerly of the JIVE Records Gold and Platinum selling group
Solid HarmoniE. Our debut CD spun out four hit singles "I Wanna Love You," "I Want You To Want Me," "I'll Be There For You" and "To Love Once Again" which were written and produced by
Max Martin.
After Mariama left Solid HarmoniE, we left JIVE Records and around this time Melissa decided to pursue a solo career. In 1999 we picked up new member, Jenilca and a new record label
DreamWorks. We toured the US opening for BBMak but lack of label support/direction caused us to go
separate ways.
I spent the last couple years writing, recording and performing small gigs around Orlando. Last year (May/June 04) I was in the
"Radio Star" contest broadcast on Clear Channel Radio's Top 40 or CHR stations in 85 US markets. The first week I had 2/3 of the national vote and guest host
Avril Lavigne said "She sounds like a young Gwen Steffani with attitude..." That secured me a spot in the semi finals a few weeks later but even with the support of the guys in "Simple Plan," it wasn't enough to get me into the final round.
The songs you hear are a result of what I have been up to over the last year. They are co-written and co-produced by
Mike Shimshack, Kyle Kelso and myself. It's cool to be part of of the songwriting and have a hand in the production process. In the past everyone else was in control but these songs are who I am.
